As the title says. I wanted to hear anyones experiences on there install of the 2.5 bolt on CO. Any issue with Brake line mounts or steering bind? Let me know. I am getting Donahoes in a few monthes but could not pass up the deal I got on the kings. They should be here in an hour or so. Also - I read some where about dropping the sway bar for an install but the write up was for a 4x4 Tacoma.....

Disconnecting at least one side of the sway bar (prerunner or 4x4) will allow each side to move freely, and makes it easier to get the old coilovers out, and the new ones in.
Other than that, three 14mm bolts on the top, one 19mm bolt on the bottom. pretty straight forward. Use loctite on any bolts you remove during the installation process as well. |

Thanks for the responses. That site is where I got my info originally. That is also where I read about the brake line issue.
http://www.parksoffroad.com/tacomamo...brakelines.htm . Got the shocks and am going to install them right now. Will update later. Thanks again.... |

Ive done many sets of Coilovers. Let me know if you have any questions. Ziptie the brake line out of the way if you need to.

Well, after some some work I got the shocks installed. Had an issue with the top holes not lining up. Ended up boring them a little bigger to get the screws in. Everything seemed an 8th of an inch off. All in all it went well. The guy I got them off of had them lifted pretty high. I am going to have to drop the lift some. Anyone have a stock measurement (for Kings)? How much thread should be exposed? I could not compare to a stock height as I had Revtec spacer. All in all I gained 1.5". That is compared to the 3" Revtek. Which would make for a total of 4.5" of lift. I think that is 1.5" to much so I am going to back it down. Also noticed my upper ball joint is at an angle now. The ride is definately better. Way less body roll in corners as well.

I found out the problem.
Tundra shocks not Tacoma Just a heads up for people. If you install the shocks and the King logo is offset towards the rear of the truck you have Tundra shocks. As wellas the bolts holes not matching up by as little as an 1/8". Live and learn I guess. King says the ride will be stiffer but I thought it was ok. I also dropped the truck down a bit. |

So the person who sold you them told you they were for the Tacoma? I hope you got a really good deal. I would not have been happy about that.
