Default Sprinkler Valve problem. Sprinklers won't turn off!

I'm trying to replace the diaphragm on my Lawn Genie sprinkler valve. I took it apart was not able to locate the part locally. I put the valve back together and as soon as I turned on the water the sprinklers went on and they won't go off on one of the zones. I turned off the water and took it apart and put it back together again. It finally went off. Then I turned on the sprinklers for 1 minute to make sure it was functioning properly and it stayed on.

Any solutions?

Thanks.

Did they all turn on or just the ones you took apart. Sounds like a bad solenoid. If you have a valve that works, pull the solenoid and put it on the one that keeps turning on. And then put the bad sol on the valve that was working fine.

eh.... solenoids usually default to off.... its either a control box issue - disconnect the solenoid wires and see if they shut off

or its a worn out diaphragm, they get weakened and then will flex on their own just from the water pressure.

either one is common depending on your control box, and i have never been a huge fan of lawn genie...

that lawn genie valse is a knockoff irritrol (formerly richdel) valve. Toro also makes one that is similar. If the diaphram when back on ok, it should still shut off. usually they only have a small leak with a bad diaphram. When you took it apart, did you put the spring back in? That needs to be there. Also, did you remove the solenoid? Make sure the plunger didnt fall out. If either are missing the valve will stay on. Also, the black toro valves at home depot should work for parts (well there are two types but one will look the same). Look at one, it is the same thing...

I got it fixed. I don't think I had the diaphragm on correctly. I replaced it with a new one because that's what I was trying to do in the first place.
