Default Pressure plate torque specs?

im finally putting my truck back together after my major oh shit and im doin my last minute read ups. the torque specs for the pressure plate to flywheel are 14ftlbs. is that right? it sure seems low to me, but just checkin with the pros here before i get all greasy. thanks guys

if thats what the fsm says, lock-tight it lock-tight every bolt you cannot see once its assembled

Torque the 6 bolts on the clutch cover.

Torque:19 Nm (195 kgfcm, 14 ftlbf)

Yes, not much required for those little bolts.

I was about to replace my clutch this weekend and was surprised by that as well. seems low to me but thats what the FSM calls for!

Would it be a good idea to blue loctite those? Just out of curiosity for when I have to do my clutch

Those torque specs are correct and that is really all you need. I often dab a little blue loctite on a couple of the pressure plate bolts, but its really overkill IMHO.

I use red loctite on everything that I can't see once assembled, I mean if red it stronger and costs the same why not right?

You'll have fun breaking those bolts loose next time you have to take whatever apart.

I only use red loctite in a few places, crank bolt, hub and knuckle studs (SFA), button head bolts replacing diff studs. Everything else is blue.

After seeing a truck or 2 loose things on the road (clutch slave, pinion flange) I'm kind of anal about loctite'ing everything.. overkill I'm sure, but I shouldn't be finding any missing bolts/nuts.

yup....and don't over torque them...they snap fairly easily...DAMHIKT

awesome thanks guys i got her back together yesterday. wouldnt fuckin believe it though one of the nuts for the rear driveline (at the tcase) got all fuckered up and there some wierd fuckin thread that the closest place to me that had one was 125 miles away. fuckin superfine thread metric shit. and when my shit went boom it actually broke one of the mounting bolt ears off the block so im short a bolt, but im not buying a new block or pulling it to half ass weld it. ill wait till something else happens(hope it doesnt) and do a swap. oh well its all back together and everything feels good. the marlin clutch feels light just like everyone says, but seems to grab hard as hell. thanks everyone that helped me out along the way

thread on those is 1.0
If you are only using 3 drive line bolts it will fail in short order. you need a replacement end asap. is this on the front or rear?
I have a bunch of spare DL bolts/nuts.

oh no i didnt drive it without that nut. i already got a replacement and took it for a drive. i took my canopy off and it raised the rear and now i need bigger pinion shims cause i have a vib again. i know there 1.0, but are a 10 mm?

the bolts are not an off the shelf item...dealer only. I think 10mm
I can send you a couple if you want. what about the broken ear??
