I'll probably be there but it is way too early to tell for sure. Still kind of thinking about the Gilmer Jamboree...

Arkansas Crawlers have moved the recovery training to Saturday, April 14th.

http://www.arkansascrawlers.com/main...ad.php?t=15883

Good thing the cabin is booked

This should be a good learning experience. I attended the last one a couple years ago, and it was very informative.

I'm crossing my fingers that Daryl can make it. Think he enjoyed Aaron harassing me at 2:30 in the morning to go to Centerfold.

"Anna won't care. This is the last time you can do this kinda stuff. Come on. Let's go. It'll be fun. You can't do this stuff anymore after you're married."

They decided to go with out me. Surprise surprise - Centerfolds was closed when they got there. Dang't, boy!!!

I guess that's OK since I didn't meet the "Memphis Sub-Chapter" member qualification anyway.

I'll be there Saturday. No cabin/spending the night for me, but I plan to hang around for a good long while that evening. Looking forward to more classic quotes from Waldo!

Got some interesting news today. Got an email from Knox saying that the cabin has been double booked, and unfortunately someone booked ahead of me

He's looking at the cost of staying at Panther Valley Ranch. Fingers crossed for a price break. Otherwise, might be a tent camping weekend. Lame...

Here's the reply:

Quote:
Hello Jordan,
Panther Valley does not have anything that will be able to accommodate you guys without getting into multiple cabins. I have called the KOA and they do have a cabin like ours for the same price.
He's doing his best to make it right.

That being said, who's still in on a cabin rental? I'd venture to guess the KOA cabin is nicer than the one at the park. I've heard it's quite nice, but I'll check on that with others.

Only thing with that is we would have to leave the park to get there and probably would have to be quiet after dark.. That sucks. How the hell do they let it be double booked? Sounds like a lot of mismanagement.

It is a bummer to have to drive somewhere to sleep. Changes the plan quite a bit. Thinking maybe tent camping would be a better option at this point, but you just never know what the weather is going to do.

What a bummer

I'd rather stay at the park than drive to KOA. As long as it doesn't rain, tent camping should be fine. Maybe Knox would let us set up at the Pond instead of being spread out around the campsites?

Or, under/around the pavilion if there's no organized event.

Dunno about event, but it is the Arkansas Crawler's New Guy's Run / Recovery Run.

The pond has pros and cons. I like that it's secluded and away from others. When you're done hanging out, you can go sleep in peace. However, it's also away from others, so socializing is stifled a little. Also, mosquitoes are likely to be out and about, and I think they may be set up at the pond as well.

I doubt Knox would let us set up a tent city under the pavilion with there being a small event Saturday.

What about having several campsites together that are closest to Millcreek? Or, overflow is often a good spot to camp. It suffers from the same anti-social characteristics as the pond, but it's relatively flat and quiet unless The Witness is rolling.

Thoughts?

I'd rather stay at the park also, the time we stayed at the pond was cool to me. We socialized all night around all the other campsites and pavilion, and then when we wanted to pass out, we were able to go back to the pond.

I'm bringing stones so 'driving' to the pond might not be such a great idea... just sayin.

Either of those would be fine with me. If we stayin the
campsites we need to get a headcount and reservations taken care of asap.

When I came up there last august we stayed at the KOA. It was great since it was so hot but sucked driving back and forth.
Me and half the crew I'm coming w/ plan to camp at the park this go round. Probably an Rv spot so we can have running water and electric.
Some of the crew is staying at KOA and a buddy and his lady are staying at the panther place.
Looking forward to getting up there and meeting y'all!

Alright. Pond or campsites? Make a choice. Kinda leaning towards pond, but I will need to okay with Jared or Knox. Also, any thoughts on mosquitoes?

My personal opinion would be campsites but it really makes no difference to me.
