Stolen bicycle...

Don't really expect to find it... evar

But just in case some dickshit tries to sell it locally
was hoping someone might see it... and report that to me.

Was stolen in Hemet, Ca. 2 - 20 - 2012
at the local Inland Valley Hemet Mall bike rack.

Looked to be a pro who stole it...
as they used a cutting torch to cut the cable lock.

It's a 1990 ish Specialized FatBoy Hemi Crusier (24")

Looks like this one...







Everything on it is impeccable and original...
except...

The upper frame is missing the padding...
and the seat was changed out to a black more comfy seat
Tho' the original seat is still in my possession.

What makes this bike unique is that it still even has the original tires.
Which have red sidewalls.
And the wheels have the original flat bladed spokes.
Not to mention perfect red paint on it's alloy frame.
and all the original decals intact.

I'm real sure... there's not many of these left anywhere.
that are in this good of original condition.

If anyone might see that someone is trying to sell something similar...
please contact me... and let me know.
Would be appreciated.

My son would be even more pleased...
as it was stolen when he was using it...
and he feels real bad about that.

I figured it would happen... and warned him of it.
so... guess that doesn't make him feel better.

I've purdy much written it off...
But the son... he's still troubled by the incident.

That's a huge bummer. At least your son was getting use out of it rather than it hanging on someones wall and never being used. I'd post a small reward at the local track(s).

O.T. funny story - when I was 13/14yrs old my little brother had his bike stolen - my mom found out who it was (17/18 yr old thug kid) and picked him up off the street - told the kid if the bike wasn't returned in our backyard by the next morning - she was going to hunt him down, chop him up - and take him out on our boat and dump him in the Columbia river...
Bike showed back up the next morning....lol..

in college, my built up mountain bike was stolen off my 2nd floor doorstep as i went in to refill my water bottles- it took about 2 min. i was LIVID.

Have you talked with mall security? I ask because when I was working at a shop in SoCal, the local mall had a policy of confiscating bikes that were "illegally" parked, ie, locked up to trees, benches, and even bike racks if they were there "too long." I'm not sure if they still have policies like that in place, but since most malls are owned by the same people, it's possible.

Yeah Mall security was inquired of and report was made...
they weren't too helpful tho'
say their video cameras don't pan far enough to capture anything
where the bike racks are situated, left and right, of the main entrance.
so any clue that could be helpful... is lost.

hell... maybe they're in on the theft ring too !?

Yea - that's probably bullshit about the cameras. When my wife's Celica was smashed into in a Safeway parking lot (wife was in store)- and the people took off, Safeway didn't want to help at all. They said they checked the cameras (finally after speaking to supervisor after supervisor - then manager) and didn't see anything - even though one of the cameras was pointed at her fucking car.
It's work for them to get involved - so they just stay out of it. After paying our $500 deductible - we boycotted that Safeway and haven't been back in 7 years. And park at the back of all parking lots away from everyone - lesson learned.

Doubt that I'll see it up in Sac, but we do have a nice BMX track here in Roseville I used to ride at, I'll keep an eye out. got a serial # or anything identifying for it?

My 12 speed road bike was stolen from my driveway when i was like 15. I live in a small town and stuff like that never happened. Never saw it again.
