damn steve that is a ton of work... so is it rubicon capable right now??
as for paint--earl schieb is $400 and up...decent paint jobs are $$. get a quote if you just bring them the parts already prepped as well. but i like rattle can autobody paint. works pretty damn well if you can get it color matched. plus you can repaint your truck in the motel 6 paking lot if you get rock carnage.

You are right, It's a ton of work. You would know ![]() I had an Earl Schieb paint job once, and will never have another. 1 week after the paint was done, I went to get gas, well the damn thing overfilled the tank, and gas came out of the filler neck. All of the damn paint just melted off below the gas door. Never again. I Tried to convince Amber to followin Dean's footsteps and just Camo it, But she wasn't too hip on the idea, and really wants it painted red. So it's going to get painted soon. As for Rubicon ready, Nope not just yet. i still have a bunch of loose ends to tie up. finish putting the interior together fix the broken front U-Joint. swap both bent rear axleshafts Finish welding the bed mounts to the frame and paint them before they rust reinstall the rock sliders Build a new front bumper with integrated winch mount Find out what is klunking in my front end when i turn from side to side. Find out why the airbag light is on Fix my damn cruise control Put the new shell on and paint it and finally she needs some new rubber. my 35's have seen better days. Steve |

Actually it's going in for paint on Monday... I ended up striking a deal with the local High School. They have one of the best Auto repair programs in the area, and I've seen the work that they are doing. So it's only going to cost me $850, and they are doing all of the body work...
They said that they would need it for a week and a half, but i'm planning on a month.

I had a car painted by Vo-Tec once. They did good work..you might need to doing some extra polishing on the final finish once its done. Cost me $700 to have some dents done on my old cavalier as well as have it repainted.

Right now it's mostly done, A little uglier than the pics (put a silver shell on it, and a white tailgate) But it's getting painted next week at the high school. I'm pretty excited about it, since they are painting my extra fenders too.
and i'll have two matching tailgates. The rest of the finish work is just tedious wiring, assembling interior bits and pieces, tiewrapping wires up out of the way. Stuff like that. Reallly it's only a one guy job. I'm hoping to get out and take it on a run in December or January.BTW Thanks for picking up those shocks for me!! Steve |

Don't feel like a puss, it looks like your truck is pretty new... You gotta remember mine is almost 10 years old now. I still can remember the first time i drilled a hole in it anywhere... I can also remember the first time I took a Sawzall to it. Talk about no turning back!!! I'm sure it will be upside down at one point or another, but hopefully that will be much later. I'm hoping to get a cage in it next summer. I'd love to design Trucks for Toyota, Help them get back to their roots... I'm not to hip on the design of the new trucks, but then again when I had my 93, I hated the New Tacomas (95.5's) They were too damn bubbley... little did I know that when i went to check out the 3.4L V6 i'd fall in love and sell my little 22RE 4Cyl that night.... SO maybe they'll grow on me, maybe not. Steve |

I went to check on it last week, The jams were all done, the shell was done, along with my extra fenders. All they had to do was just shoot the exterior color and it was done. But the last day of school was the 16th, so it's not going to get touched until January.
