Default to weld or to hope....?

So I'm finally getting a new cat & muffler, should I weld them or bolt and hope? my exhaust is leaky right now, I cant seem to keep gaskets on the cat and the header leaks, sooooo, I was thinking weld it all and be done. Pros and Cons?

Also, have ant of you put a flex pipe after the header, or is it needed? I have a Downey header btw. Thanks

I always like nice welded exhaust. Exhaust clamps come lose rust off pinch the pipes and leak. Welded exhaust can rot at the welds and are harder to remove, also cost more. I would recommend a flange where the cat meats the muffler.

I've always had better luck with welded exhuast. The one bolt on I had kept blowin gaskets. Good luck.
