I have serious, 100 year old sounding rear leaves, mostly the driver side, loud as hell when getting in and out
I had the TSB done, 4 days total now of down time at the stealership with this bs.. The rep came out last time and they tried the "spray lube all over it and tell him we FIXED it" routine. Like I wouldnt crawl under and see wet springs. That worked for a week but of course that had already been tried in my driveway - freakin assclowns Anyhow, I'm just wondering if any of youse has had probs with the rear springs? My old 69 Chevy 4x4 beat to death and rusted out never squeaked... Deavers will fix it, but that's beside the point

No squeaking on mine that I know of. I get some clacking when hitting the speed bumps at 30mph, but I figure that's normal.
I don't know what the TSB consists of, but I'd be willing to bet the noise has more to do with the bushings and/or the way they're connected to the frame as opposed to the springs themselves.

Squeak?
My badass new '05 toyota that's loaded with all the neat stuff and cost way too much money? Squeak? Hell yeah it squeaks. I bet it's worse than Fred Sanford's truck. Fast Frank

Mine squeaks a little bit, most notable when getting in or out and when I jump up and down on the rear bumper for the hell of it. Not bad enough for me to ask the dealer about, but I'm planning on getting some Deaver's or Alcans in the near future.

I haven't noticed any squeak on mine yet. 17K miles and all is good. Maybe it was only a certain run of the trucks that have the problem??

Yes, I took it in for the "silencing pads"...didn't help.
Have an appointment in 2 weeks. Mine is real bad, the wife can hear me coming down the street from a good distance away. It is very annoying and somewhat embarrassing.

Since I did my Alcan AAL in the rear it isnt as bad as it was, but she still squeeks. I work for a dealership and had the shop foreman look at it and he said, that sucks man, you got a squeek. I can see where "stealership" came from!
Anyways, yeah, mine started squeekin about 8k miles on it. That was before she'd been wheeled. I only notice it on speed bumps or bad potholes thought. Now that I have the AAL, I'm not hitting the speed bumps at 25+ anymore though. |

Mine squeeked when I first got it. I sprayed white lithium grease between the leafs, jack the axle up to allow the grease to really get inbetween the leafs.
That was a year ago (Dec 2004) and it's still silent to date. |

Mine Squeeks also very annoying when I get in or out of the truck. I have aal in the rear so I don't know if it is factory problem or the aal.
