Motor Trend Show 2005 American Prerunner

I saw this at the Motor Trend show in Baltimore today. My Digicam is on its last leg, so I apologize for the quality.

The truck is pretty much all show and no go. It did have donahoe coilovers and glassworks fenders, but other than that was pretty stock. The "sliders" bolted directly to the body which I though was lame, and the tire carrier roll bar think looked kinda cool.

Wow you would think if they are going to put something in the auto show they would try a little harder to actually clean it. And WTF is with the red anodized overlay on the grill and rear bumper? The person who detailed that truck should be shot.

Yea, at first I though of USA 6x6, but his shit actually works. This was just dissapointing.

The red anodizing was peeling off, so I have no idea WTF they did to it.

I thnk it was a dealerships poor attempt...

Don't you mean the bolt on / sticker application frenzy????? oh and the other thing I noticed under the sliders is a neon light strip looks like it was scotch taped to the body...

that is pretty lame.... Its amazing the quality variances in project cars at car shows. They go from super badass to SUPER GAY!

those sliders are really poor quality!! The support bracket as that are mounted on the body are to thin and not square tubing which i think if the truck was to slide on rocks with it, all it would do is tear from the body!!!! also they should of removed the front bumper and have a nice prerunner bumper made for it. and for heavens sake they red anodized the front grill and the rear bumper!!! will someone shot the person that made that so we don't see another good toyota look like crap!!!

That's supposed to be the American Prerunner's Special Vehicles Operations truck? With the "super tough" optional Toyota skid plate, whatever the heck they did to the grill and bumper, and the 40 series tires. Those look like they work out to a 32X10.5X20. What kind of poser mobile are they showing? And to top it off, they have it surronded by bars so you won't get too close like it's some top secret hot ticket ride. But you know what... Thousands of people that have no clue about anything Off-Road, and don't know any better, probably thought that truck was AWESOME. Therefore in someone @ "American Prerunner's" eyes, the truck is a success, and that's why they put that pile of crap in an auto show. Take those worthless sliders for example - most people that I work with that comment on my truck think that my DeMello sliders are just really cool looking running boards, or side steps.

Quite the oppiosite!!! After a few miles a bunch of cosmo shiat would fall off. the stickers would peel and get scraped off and the paint might even get some pin striping(if you tread lightly like i do), all the anodizing would come off the grill. and you'de be left with an all right truck.

Its kinda hilarious how Toyota really ruined the term "prerunner". it used to mean something, now its just a 2wd truck...

This truck makes me sick, they didn't even bother getting someone who knows a little about offroading. This is an example of what pimp my ride would do to someone's prerunner and think its cool, way to de-value a truck. those wheels are so lame!
