Default super swamper ? on a tacoma

just bought some super swamper ltb's the size are 33x13.5x15 . i am running a 99 taco with 3" susp and 2" of body, and 15x10 rims, do you guys think a will have any problems??

you're probably gonna rub bad with that setup. my buddy runs 33x12.5's on 15x8's w/ 3" suspension and 2" body and he rubs pretty bad. with the extra inch of width on the tires and the wider rims, you're gonna rub like crazy

LOL, uh, yea, you'll have major rubbing with those w/o about 8" of lift. Even pounding the pinchweld won't keep them off the fenders and in the rear you'll start ripping off your fender flairs.

And, unless you have rims with around 2.75-3" of backspacing, maybe less, you won't clear the spindle towers much less the frame rails on full-lock turns.

friend of mine ran 33x13.50 tsl's on 10in rims with just a 3 in body lift on his 03 4x4. yea it rubbed. but not THAT bad. mudding in straight line= no rubbing depends on what you do.

I have a 3.5" Fabtech Perf... Downey 3" leaf packs(really 4"). & a TM 3" body lift. I have 33x14.50x15 SSR's on 15x10's, they rubbed the pinch welds at full turn when in reverse. The front was a forced modification...I hit a deer, it jumped into the side of the fender & got caught in the wheel well and wound up ripping off the valence. I've downgraded to 33x12.50x15 BFG AT/KO's on 15x8's

But, I never got stuck, looked good, and got the worst gas mileage (10-12 MPG).

BTW...check the MFG's website for the ACTUAL diameter! Mine were 33.4"

it depends on the backspacing on your wheels. the less backspacing = less rubbing for you. stock bs is around 3.75 i think most ppl with aftermarket wheels have about 3.5 -3.25 inch of bs. with the 13.5 i would hope you have at most 3" of bs for minor rubbing...

stock bs on all Tacomas is 4.5"
the less backspacing you go with the more lift is required to keep the tires out of the fender edges.

Heytenor is right. The width of the tire and the backspacing on the rim makes all the difference in the world. I ran 31x12.50x15 thornbirds on 15x10's stock no lift. It hit the front valance pretty bad but wasn't unbearable. It was ok for normal driving but any sharp turning and I was hitting. But a friend of mine runs 32x10.50x15 tsl radials on stock rims no lift and doesn't hit at all. PULL THAT 2" BODY LIFT OFF AND PUT ON A 3" BODY LIFT. That will give you 6" of lift I think you will be close put alright with that setup.

No way on a 10 inch rim,Mabye on an 8 inch rim with lots of pinch weld hammering. If u get the B/S just right u might can get away with not to major rub.

I have 2.5" Cornfed Spacers and a 2" Body Lift on my tacoma and im running 33 x 12.50 Thornbirds, which measure out to almost 14 inches, on 15x10s and they rub a little bit.

Every truck is different man.... I am running 35" MT/R's on 10" wide wheels with only about 2" of suspension and a 2" body lift.... Just takes some clearancing....But that is why we have sawzall's...

I'm sitting on 3" of suspension lift with 33x12.50s on 15x10s, 3 5/8" backspace. I occasionally tap the pinch weld under full-stuff turns, but I have not done much to fix that. The biggest issue is the rear where I am hitting the bedside during articulation. If I open up the wheel wells some I will gain back most of flex in back, although the tires are doing a good job of massaging the fenders out of their way.

The only problem I can see you having is between the side of the tire and the upper control arm. Everything else is workable by moving or removing sheet metal.

Post up the results and show everyone what the real situation is. Only a few that posted are actually able to compare to your situation.

Stick with me and Brant, mr. trd, when we tell you to run the biggest tire with the least amount of lift. It works very well, offroad and on.

No problem, buddy. I should be up your way next weekend to get my front bumper built.

I don't know how many Tacomas have run Rusty Nail, but I know that many could, as my truck is nothing special. I'm sure that my truck is one of the few Tacos to go through there, but that's because it's a lesser-known trail.
