Default help my truck likes men

so yeah it's been leaking PS fluid a LOT.......i've been filling it up....took a look at it and found that the leak is coming somewhere from where the lines (or line) lead into the steering column/rack. I'd really like a second opinion on this, i don't really trust myself. I'd be down to drive somewhere if someone wants to look/confirm whats wrong with it. Thanks a lot.

Zack

I dont think its an issue of the pump cause there's no leakage in the bay....it's all where the lines go in and out to the steering rack.

Zack,

Next time I'm around the area, I'll be more than happy to take a gander.

Thanks Phil. As of right now it's whining like crazy. I don't want to drive it because I don't want to completely destroy the PS pump. And now by leaking, its got a pretty constant dripping going on. Shit.

Mine does it to but not bad enough I've done anything about it yet. Mine is leaking at the flexible part of the return line where it joins the hard line at the rack. Its the one with the clamps on it (the other one is the pressure line-has factory looking ends on it) I assume it would be easy enough to replace. Just hard to reach.

Zack what did your dealer tell you? I went to mine today and found out they only sell the line in one complete section up mto the pump $300+. Looks like we have to find our own replacement hose.

I just changed mine today. I got a section of 3/8 ID hose for a transmission cooler from a local parts store. $2-3 for a foot. You only need 8 inches (yeah thats what she said....) and you'll need about 12 more oz of power steering fluid.

Mine was leaking at the point where the metal fitting on the rack met the rubber hose on the pipe. I suspect the stock rubber hose clamp failed. Mine was slight and I only noticed a small amount of fluid around the hose.
