Default SoCal Anza Borrego Nov 10-12

Alright boys and girls get your dates marked off on the calendar! We are headed out to Borrego and Ocotillo Wells November 10-12. Come on out for a relaxing time in the desert with us! We aren't doing anything fancy like getting kicked out of the desert, or 40 pounds of meat to cook...just wheeling and campfiring. Bring the families, your lawn chairs and most important....WOOD!!! We will have a sign up page going soon, so let us know if you are coming out!!

Anza Borrego Page

Thanks and see you out there!!!

But of course I'll be there...

What trails are we running... Pinyon, S. Coyote ? Will there be a pre-run for this?

Same trails as last year, with some added in I believe.

PreRun... probably, just not like last year.

Default Pictars from last year.... and info

YOU CAN GET AN 05' through the squeeze... well 'stock' width.

You are almost guarenteed to lift a tire... or two.

I personally have almost floped on heart attack hill, and we almost had a 4runner go over last year. It has taken a couple vehicles to the wreaking yard!

Here are a couple photo albums from the 'hard' run.
Pinyon Mtn Road

South Coyote Canyon

Prerun for Last year....

I have tons of other pictures of those trails... and more on myWEBSITE

These trails are not 'hard' but for Anza Borrgo they are considered so. (To my knowleage)

There are hundreds of miles of trails out there.

Extra gas is also a good idea for all the runs if you can spare the weight and bed space. The hard run probably does cover some serious ground. We make a giant loop around the inside of Anza Borrego State Park. Truckhaven Hills, to South Coyote Canyon, to Pinyon Mtn road, to fish creek, to Truckhaven hills. It's an ALL day trail ride. You will need to bring LUNCH, snacks and drinks (please DO NOT bring alcohol as something to drink on the trail) Save that for camp.

We will have the chance to get gas in two places for the Hard run. Once in Borrego springs, once near Ocotillo Wells. You can also get gas at a couple places off the 86.

yeah yeah, early to post this.. but the more times people read it the better it sticks!

We had Julian Apple pie (julian apple pie co) last year. We could drive up from truckhaven but that's a 45+ drive one way.

I think we need to con some one in to picking them up on the way in. No one wants to make that drive after wheelin... or after arriving to setup camp. I'll see what way my parents are taking from Escondido, MAYBE I can get them to get the pies... but they are towing their bronco so... I dunno!

I'll put $10 or $20 in the pot for them.

Darrin I know you said no BBQ and such, but I think this should be tradition!

Your parents are going?! Cool...I've been thinking of dragging my mom along one of these times. She's still never ridden in my truck off-road. She says I make her nervous because "no normal truck should need that much suspension"

I might come through Julian unless I caravan...I'll throw $10 in the pot too.

Oh and I'm going to need a Borrego Boy shirt if I show up
