Default ARB solenoid

Any idea why I'm leaking air from my solenoid for the front ARB? It's coming from the top of the silver threaded post and just started the other day. I took it apart and made sure everything was clean and blew it out but it's still doing it. Any help?

Also, if anyone has a spare solenoid they want to sell let me know. Thanks. ....Steve

the input side to the solonoid is marked "1" and the output is marked "2", I hope. NOt meant to work the other way or it might leak, I htink

Thanks, I'll check it out but I don't think I changed anything when it started leaking. I've heard they don't last long though so maybe it was just it's time. ....Steve

I've plumbed a pressure regulator/gauge and 1/4" "ball valve"
( in-cab) upstream of the ARB solonoid, for my rear locker. .

I've read about that but already cut the switches into the dash last year. Where is your valve? Any pics?

you should pull your ARBs now and sell them before your truck explodes

Basically, I routed compressor output( Quickair hardmount) into my cab and split it. I used cheap poly line( 3/8" or 1/4"), put a ball valve on each branch and a 20$ welding regulator/airgauge downstream form each valve. The ARB branch is regulated to 85psi.

The poly line should be protected well from kinking or crushing. Either protect it well or pay up for tougher hose.

No pics, but all the brass fittings you can get fromthe plumbing aisle at local harddware. DOn't get iron- get brass- unless you want rust spewie inyour locker.

Where are the valves mounted? Are they on a block or laying on the floor or......

Ok, I found a pic of the mounting inside the cab. Sent you an email w/ pic file, SteveO.

Had to get rid of my center console, but where you mount yours is entirely up to you, should you choose to do this.

I just wanted to have redundant control over the pressure to the ARB( being able to limit it to 85psi )and also have access to higher pressure from an OBA tank supplied from the same Quickair compressor.

I posted them once before, where were you ?

Here we go.
Tanks, each with a drain valve and manifolded together.

Here they are mounted up under the bed with the "Steve Edition" stainless brackets.


Here's the compressor on the passenger side fender. It's a Viair 450C.


I've made a couple changes since these pics, now I have a 110-145PSI pressure switch next to the quick connect so the tank stores a higher pressure than the ARB's require. The regulator steps it down to 80 PSI. I also have a 100PSI pop-off valve where the pressure switch is in the pic in case the regulator lets go to protect the lockers. I also have a set of stainless lines being made to replace all the rubber hose under the hood for added beauty.

If you have any questions let me know, it seems to work great for airing up and running an impact gun.
