You mean the ones on the front that go up like 6 inches? lol. I think the earlier years had different mounting locations, so the long mounts kind of made it universal.

Yes it was missing, I replaced that bolt so many times. The front cross member that it bolts to has no access for a wrench (its completely boxed in) so I could never get the nut totally tight.

I finally cut a 1" round hole on the opposite side so a socket will fit and stuffed some larger 10.9's in there.

I got to take her out tonite for the first time in 9 months... I don't think I'll miss that 96hp

It took me 7 months to get the parts and 2 months to finish.

I got all hyped up seeing the 3.0 4x4's getting swapped in a few weeks... V6 swap in a single cab 2WD 4cyl is a whole different story.

Default Sweet travel!!

Damn, these tacos are sweeeeet!! I have a friend of mine that has an '89 long travel. The first time he took me for a ride in it, I thought I was going to die!! He came flying over this hill... all I could think was, "this landing is going to hurt!" Surprising, I didn't even feel the landing! Hook... Line... Sinker... Oh yeah!! I'll have to get a pic of it on here.

That 3.4 swap looks bitchen. Im currently trying to find a wrecked Taco or whatever so I can put one in my 88. Luckily mines a V6 4x4 5spd, should make it somewhat easier. Did you use the ORS kit?

I have a feeling mine will take a while. I've got the big stuff though: t100 engine, 5 speed tranny, complete wiring harness with computer, full intake and the exhaust back to the cat. All I really think that's left is the clutch/flywheel, power steering pump, making motor/tranny mounts and a couple other things. Oh yea, and then trying to wire it up so it will actually run
So maybe I have my work cut out for me.

I bought the ORS "full kit". I wasn't very satisfied with the whole kit but the wiring harness was very nice to have and worked perfectly. I just had a lot of issues with the other parts, but you won't have those issues with your setup.

You won't regret putting the 3.4 in your truck.

Are you going to solid mount your motor?
Did you get the 5spd from the T100 or a 3.0 ?

I got the full exhaust system from the tacoma and just cut it all up so it would fit in my truck, I used everything except for the HUGE muffler. But its temporary until I get rid of the damn torsion bars.

I think I'm just going to fabricate some mounts like ORS has, I haven't had any issues with motor mounts yet, so I think the stock taco ones will be fine for now. I actually got the 5spd from Dan Vance, it was one of the ones he was running with his 3.4. I'm pretty sure it's from a T100 also though.

Anyone seen that 03 tundra v8 on race-dezert for sale.... wouldn't that be interesting. Five1Nine8Eight thats a clean engine swap, love those flat top front fenders.

Aren't there conversion motor/tranny mounts for v6 swaps. Downey?

Yea, but they still require welding, so I might as well make my own and save a few bucks.

Haha, I was about to buy that transmission from him but I found one closer to me.

I got motor mounts from a 3.0 (including the rubber part) and bolted them on the motor. Then cut my 22RE perches off as clean as possible (I also plated mine) and placed them 3" back and 1" up. Placing the engine there gave enough firewall clearance, fan/radiator clearance and steering shaft/crossmember clearance. It also put the shifter right up where its supposed to be and let me bolt the transmission in using the stock trans mounts.

On another note I took my truck to the street for the first time... loads of power through 1st 2nd 3rd then it mellows out in 4th.

Hmm, that's not a bad idea, placing the motor mounts so the tranny mount lines up. My motor has the mounts on it, I just need to make the perches. I thought the 22re perches were different than the 3.4's...? I don't need to worry too much about clearances though, I'm going to be sawzalling off everything in front of the firewall and going with a different radiator. Are you still using your 22re radiator?

You're getting me pumped up now, lol. I think I'm gonna start looking for clutches on ebay.

The perches on the frame for the 22RE are exactly the same as the 3.0/3.4 just in a different location. Firewall clearance was very tight for me, but I couldn't move fwd (centerlink and oil pan clearance).

I'm using a 3.0 radiator that I got new from trail-gear... I got mine for 120 but the price has since gone up.

I set up a gallery for my dad and bro to watch progress, it has some detailed pics in it. Click

@camstoy 2WD with 4WD fenders and marker lights.

Nice gallery, some pictures I'll probably take advantage of.
Quick question though... Did your shifter, slave cylinder and fork fit the new tranny?

Oh yea, the only difference between 2wd and 4wd fenders, is the corner lights are turned upside down...
