'97 astro van did this to my driver door. first going to try to pop it out, if that doesnt work i will get a new door. but anyway im getting all the insurance money $2200. i want my rear suspension done, plus some armor and snorkle. i hate my downey 2" lift shackles, the ride is horrible.
![]() ![]() this is my DD, but it deffinately sees lots of trails and camping. so this is what im thinking. i want really good flex, but still a bit of stability. I plan on / \ the shocks, probably the 5150's, unless im told to go with something better. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() OH, my 85 runner is a straight axle, so SAS is not a option, i want one of each. i totaled this out to about $1300. im also having an exo built for my runner with the $ left over. My question is; does anyone agree with my idea? disagree? is there some other route i should take with this money? i have tough skin and i want the truth. thank you.

Other than that... I doubt you will be able to just pop the dent out. Looks like you'll have to do some serious pulling and bondo work.

thanks a lot for the info. the johnny joint doesnt sound like something i want on my DD anymore. that picture of my truck makes it look really bad. but my buddy is a body guy and tacoma owner. he says that it should pop out well, not looking like new, but a lot better. underneath the door i wont fix. just sand down and repaint. its barely noticeable.

Now get some sliders so if you have a side impact again, it won't be as serious

Before you buy a rear dif guard be sure it will actually fit the taco axle. All-Pro sent me 2 and both were a ridiculously poor fit; fill plug access hole way misaligned, guard did not mate up to housing with good contact for welds.... The TG one looks suspiciously like the AP. AP says they are redesigning but this is at least since 11/05

i wouldn't just try to "pop" it out unless you have some body experience. you will likely end up stretching the door panel and making it fugly. you can buy an outer door repair panel and put that on and not have to worry about the dent and body filler. then you just have to get it painted.

sorry to hear about the wreck. I got a snorkel for my truck and i really like the way it looks. if you do get one be sure you put sensor safe silicone around everything and be sure you get everything sealed up before you go through some water. cuttin the hole was pretty scary.

$2200 is almost like winning the lottery
...I was able to buy a door for $150 for my '84, and had it painted for $100...might be easier than trying to rework the current door Nice to see someone come out ahead on deals like this...first you, than cell4soul one his small claims court against toyota on the cracked motor mount (though he fought his for months)
