So since the theme of the month has been to encourage wheeling, and I had the day off and the passport office is pissing me off I decided to put a complete list of places to wheel.
Maybe we can make this a sticky somewhere...if there is already a list like this then a MOD can delete this thread...i couldn't easily find one though. Texas Offroad Parks If somone knows a better way then doing it the way I did it be my guest...i figured i'd break the ice... |

That is a great idea you have there.
Maybe we can have all of TTORA do something similar on Googlemaps.

There is a link to a recent TLCA trip here and information on the park here Palo Duro Canyon is more rugged and adventuresome. Palo Duro has two scheduled runs per year: Jeep Jamboree in May and Jeep Challenge in September. If you enjoy wheeling and aren't xenophobic, it is a great wheeling. Contact Ann Christian of the Figure 3 Ranch at 806-944-5562 to set up a group run. Some info here & an article here Here's another link to a huge list of mostly out-of-the-way places, I can't vouch for it being updated or accurate though: 4x4trails.net Post up your thoughts and help us keep this up-to-date, I'll move it to a separate folder and stick it when you are done.

Thanks for this list. Being in Arkansas, I'm close enough to actually wheel some of these awesome places.
I really liked your Google Maps idea, so I stole it and started one for the AR TTORA chapter Arkansas Wheeling Places Anyone have any more?

Boulder Creek Farms, outside Marble Falls, Texas
Is has over 3,600 acres ATV, Motorcycle, full sized 4x4, camping and RV sites. Below is the link to their Full Sized 4x4 site: Boulder Creek Farms.org They have five levels of trails. It is great to get to the top of the hill and view the country side. It is amazing and below is a map of the property.

Spring creek has added a rock crawling area made up of shotcrete. The course has been used by werock and some local rock crawling competitions. there are also loose rock courses, lots of dry washes, ravines, hills and trails. There are plenty of mud holes if that's your cup of tea. Check out www.springcreekoffroad.com for park info.

Were having a little shin dig on the 21st and 22 of Feb.
The Mud bogs, sand drags and rock race. Usually about 15 to 20 thousand people show up. On a warm year it can get as high as 45k. It's a great big crazy week of "Hold my beer and watch this" Lots of okies and New Mexicans. I can't post up any more pic's than what I got. Not enough space allowed. http://www.texas4x4.org/forumdisplay.php?f=39 Some of the info is here. |

Actually, it's correct. The Canadian River is specifcically exempt from the "Navigable Water" prohibition.
