Has anyone besides Gadget installed an engine oil temp gauge? My coolant has been running a little on the hot side (although I'd never know it by looking at the factory water temp gauge which stays pegged in the middle of the normal range) and since the oil is cooled by the coolant in the 5VZ factory oil cooler I figured the oil may be getting too hot as well.
So I installed a oil temp gauge with the sender in the same place Gadget installed his and found my oil temps get as high as 260 deg F. Just how hot is too hot for engine oil I don't know but 260 seems really hot to me. Anyone else have some numbers? I have now installed an aftermarket oil cooler with thermostat and it has dropped my temps down to about 235 F which still seems a little hot to me.

Here's a pic of it:
Its an Earl's 25 row oil cooler with 10AN fittings, Summit racing can get them: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku But they are cheaper at Barnett Performance in Georgia (404) 522-1320 $121.98 plus about $20 shipping and handling. I also went for the optional alumium bracket for $21.98.
