Man Go to the CB shop at Johnsons corner that Troy is talking about, they got plenty, or i have 2 Frances 5' Fiberglass antennas laying around, but they will brake if you catch them on a tree branch wrong...so if you are not afraid of drilling your roof willson makes a good bottom loaded wip called the 3000 that is great, i have it mounted on my runner, i will be there on saterday so if you want to ck out how i have mine feel free to. Sam

Or, if you're more on the SW side of town, the T/A truckstop off I70 and Ward Rd has a pretty good selection (but still only half what Johnson's Corner has)

Gawd, at the beginning of the summer I was like "do you guys think I can do this (HC) with open diffs?"
Now I'm like "do you guys think I can do this in RWD, low range, maybe locked, maybe not, at 12psi on 35" tires? The TD photos are worthless, no trail shots at all. What's the place like? I'd like to join you guys, maybe at least just for food afterward, cuz we're gonna need a break after finishing cleaning up the place where we just moved out. I'll at least bring the truck, the rear brakes are working again... |

I'm fairly certain that as I write this you are all partaking in food and beverage in the best of company and lamenting the unofficial end of the "4WD season."
I'm happy to report that I am living vicariously through all of you while I work my last night shift and it appears that Colorado has seen fit to make it rain, snow and dip to 20 degrees just to make me certain that I'm happy to be leaving! As I am driving to Denver from Aspen between 3:30am and 7:00am Sunday morning I will be cursing all of your names as I plow through the 5-10 inches of snow atop Vail Pass and Eisenhower Tunnel! ![]() I hope you all had a great run and good times!

Eric, you'll be happy to know that the Colorado weather was equally tormentuous at 12k feet elevation today. The dirt became mud at some point, and we were so close to timberline that it felt like the surface of the moon.
Your name came up a couple times. Damn shame you couldn't make it. I'm at Molly and Troy's as a tow truck from AAA unloads RedRunner in the driveway. More to come as Troy sees fit to relate. Hope your transition is smooth and painless. **edit: pic thread started in the trail report section***

Zombie pinion preload spacer eating rabbits.
Had a horrible grinding sound, checked and there was a ton of play in the pinion, tightened up the pinion nut, didn't really help. Almost all the way down, it finally locked up and we had to remove the rear driveshaft, drove down to Idaho Springs at 20MPH and called AAA after dinner.

If you wanted to get really wild with the fix. Like you were stranded in Africa or sumpin. You cold have taken the ring gear off. Had a 12bolt pinion bearing go out back home. The diff now resides under a puckup bead trailer with no ring gear and the pinion completely tightened down. Good trailer till I started robbing leaf springs off it for another truck. I'm hopelessly hick.

The thought of removing the ring gear was discussed at length...
