Don't know of any places for what you are looking for, but a 96 would be a tacoma right? I think this folder is intended for pre-taco quesions. I know a lot of people will still see your question and it is not completely based on the year make and model of a vehicle(general), but other taco owners (that don't visit this folder) might have more info for you.

Oh and what is a standard engine on a 96? I thought they came in both 4 cyl and V6 even back then.

No CA vehicles will work? A wiring harness is a wiring harness, no? Who did you call? There are a couple of big places out here, although their poor customer service is what they seems to thrive in. Check out TRDParts4U. They will sell you the harness for SUPER cheap (rumor has it the part is sold at cost).

Yeah, they are terrible at customer service. So is Toyota Truck Parts. Both also have terrible return policies. I highly recommend TRDParts4U. You get brand new parts for cheap with excellent customer service.

Maybe Steve, Rob, Bill, or one of the other canucks can come up with ideas for "local" yards for you. I have one place about 30 minutes away that usually has what I am looking for, but they are way expensive. I used to have a hookup at another place that would hunt down parts for me, but he changed jobs.

Have you tried carparts.com? Or is it car-parts.com? Bah, maybe google?

the best way to do it, is to buy a wrecked truck and just swap everything out in a weekend... But most ppl can't afford to do that. Good luck, Wes

If you can't find exactly what you are looking for, you might want to try Painless wiring. I can't get to the link right now, because my computer is jacked, but as soon as I can, I'll report back to ya!

here is the link : http://www.painlessperformance.com/

I contacted them. I got mixed up with another place when i said i did call them.

Can I say I'm doing a swap ? because last time I said that the guy didnt want to give me the warranty because it's a "modification".

Chris (manager i think) is a member and knows we modify everything around here. Barb is his wife. They are great people to work with. Give them a call and you will see. Or just e-mail them.

Why even tell them what you need it for? If they ask why, tell them your is bad and you need a replacement. It's none of their business why you need it.

yeah that's what I started to say. It's because they were asking me what's the part number. But I finally got it from toyota with the info I got from the engine.

I'm still waiting for an answer from TRDParts. I'm anxious to see if they can get something for me !
