Exclamation Research URL's and FSM's for Toyota Gear Heads

Hey all, Spindleshanks gave me a great idea.... that we should compile all of our useful research URL's here. So post em up and give a note as to how the site can help with anything Toyota.

Also if any of you have an online link to your FSM post it up here.

FYI Chalkie gave me this link. It has all the FSM's available!

As well as this one from Mike Ross

Here are the few I have gleaned from Troy... (Troy feel free to edit this post with better descriptions that I have given!)

* http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ - Everything you wanted to know about Motor Oils and lubricants.

* http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/index.shtml#top - 4Crawler's 4x4 Information - This site is a wealth of Toyota Info!!! (He also sells parts new and used)

* http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/? If you can't find it... look here... an extensive list of how to for toyota. You name it - they cover it.

* http://www.ttora.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page The OFFICIAL TTORA FAQ and Knowledge base....

* http://www.yotatech.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page The Yotatech Wiki. Well established and a lot of info there.

* http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.ph...=40&Itemid=137 This is the UltimateYota Wiki. The site is young so not too much there, but there are some knowledgable peeps there, so check it out. You do need to register in order to view the forum.

* Not a URL but a worthy thread about onboard air: http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82448

So, yeah, the only good use for a chevy motor that I can think of is putting it on the floor in a poorly lit hallway of an enemies house and hoping that they scrape their shins on the damn thing.

Suspension mods for the IFS - Only Coil overs, bump stops and leafs.

Hidey-ho, neighbor and anyone looking to do a lift is to ask these simple questions.
1) How much are you willing to spend
2) What type of off roading are you going to do
3) What type of driver are you
4) Is your truck a DD or trailer rig
5) Do you plan to haul stuff and how much
6) Did your wife/gf approve the purchase

Use these links below to read and understand....

CustomTaco's only piece of good info for off roaders.

Parks Offroad.com-installation and opinions

Body Lifts - answers by 4crawler.com

Lift - - the question - click here.

LEaf spring opinion poll.

Cams vs Hoes - mandatory reading

Toyota.off-road.com CO-Shock comparision

Downey-Off Road, CLick on to Suspension then the model year of your truck

UCA information

Shackle's anyone? - click here.

Shackle's anyone part II? - click here.

Timbren Bump Stops - click here.

That should be it...but to read, learn, listen and if possible, ride with some guys that have different systems to see how they like it and how it handles.

Good Luck!

for what it's worth, the pirate toy FAQ is in shambles as 4rnrRick had a falling out with that board and removed a ton of his posts and tech. It will surely be missed.

Re: Toyota Information
Toyota single and dual transfer case mount sources:

I was asked about the sources for transfer case skid plate mounting brackets by BOYota yesterday, so decided to post all that I know of.

Here are the sources for both single and dual transfer case mounting brackets for Toyotas. Keep in mind that what you are looking for here is one that allows you to 'clock' the T case as much as possible to get the most ground clearance. Most of the double T case mounts allow you to mount either a single or dual T case, which is a good option if you ever plan to upgrade to dual cases.
