Default x-mas money

x-mas money is in. Planning on going with saws and a deaver 3 leaf. The more reading i do and read about sagging the worried i get. Just getting into the whole wheeling thing but I don't want to do iut twice. Was planning on going with the toy tech to get started but changed because after i see what i want on a trip or two i want more and thought adj. would be better. The problem is it wll be a while before i save for a bumper and all. Point being, stock with beginner wheeling whats gonna sag faster. I know can crank up the saws if they start to sag but for that money if they are gonna sag why not start with toy tech and go from there?

You'll find that it doesn't matter. You start down this path, and there's no turning back. You'll get the SAWs and Deavers now, and then decide to SAS the rig next month ;D I always have felt that it is better to save up and buy the best that you can the first time. If you are going to take the time, and spend the money, do it right from the start. You can always sell parts you don't want on the classifieds if you change your mind. Get some protection, learn to work on your own rig, and wheel it. Every rig and every opinion is different, so do some research and pick what you think will work best for your needs. Have fun!

Are you running stock or do you already have sliders etc? I see alot of guys doing lifts first, but the advice I've seen suggest otherwise:

MTC: I started with tools and recovery kit. Have used both more than I expected.

The post by Redrunner sums it up pretty good:

Here's the order I recommend:

Sliders
Wheel the crap out of it
Skids
Wheel the hell out of it
Bumpers
Wheel it like you stole it
Gears/lockers (by now you should have a REALLY good idea of what you need to do to your truck in terms of tire size, lift, etc)
Wheel it like you're on fire (in a stolen truck)
Lift, SAS, longtravel - whatever you need for the way you 'wheel.

I propose armor first because wheeling is a lot more fun when you're not so worried about if you'll be able to drive it to work tomorrow.

Then lockers, because nothing enhances the capability of the truck as much. Do gears at the same time so you're not paying twice for the install.

Lift last because I don't think it's smart to spend a bunch of money on something you MAY end up cutting off later to do a SAS or longtravel. Also, lift increases wear on the steering and drive components - and it doesn't sound like you have a bunch of $$ available for repairs/replacement.

As for sliders - depends if you play arround rocks. Are there Rocks in South Carolina? Here in the Sierras, rocker pannels are like rock magnets. Lately my skis have had the same problem.

Good luck. Also I hope your birthday is just arround the corner ;-).
