Lowered Carrier Bearing

From Faq

On Tacomas with two piece drive shafts (Double Cabs and Extra Cabs), it is possible to lower the center support (the carrier bearing) if a slight driveline vibration can be felt. The bearing is attached via two bolts- Inserting a small spacer, or even washers between the bearing and frame will lower it. The reduced angle at the rear axle pinion, in theory, should reduce a mild vibration. It is not recommended you lower the carrier bearing any more than 3/4".
