OME, or Old Man Emu, suspension products fill the gap between inexpensive spacer lifts, and other, more expensive coilover (C/O) units. OME suspension is distributed by ARB USA. The information contained within this article applies to pre-2005 Tacomas.

Options for the front consist of 880, 881, and 882 springs, which can be coupled with N91 or N91SC shocks. The "SC" version uses softer valving.

OME's sole rear lift option consists of the 15 A and B leaf springs, and either N85 or N94 rear shocks. The N94 shock has the softer valving of the two. OME leaf springs are side-specific to address the driver's side lean that is common for Tacomas.

Initial lift from OME kits tends to be higher than desired, but the coils quickly settle to their ride height. Trim packers can be used to fine tune the amount of lift that is achieved. It should be noted that OME springs don't often hold up well to the weight of additional equipment such as: aftermarket heavy-duty bumpers, and winches.

Non-Specific

On pre-2005 Tacomas (all configurations) expected lift from the 15 A/B OME leaf springs is 2-2.5".

Trim packers yield 0.375" of additional lift.
