Speedometer Error

From Faq

If you don't have access to a GPS and are running larger aftermarket tires, this formula can be used to determine how much your speedometer is off by. Using this formula assumes that although you're running different tires, you're still running the factory gears.

  • Assume that 31 is the stock tire size, and therefore the original value
  • Assume that 33 is the new value.

Below is the standard formula for percent difference.

[(31-33)/31]*100 = -6.45 %

The negative value indicates that your speedometer is reading 6.45 % below you actual speed.
