Unfortunately nothing around here.

Although, I did hear about some place call "Corbin" I believe it's off the Bee-Line (Hwy 710) somewhere near Moroso Motorsports Park. From what I understand, the trail is all about mud and water and goes for some three miles that leads to a camp. I have no information in regards to this camp, I'll find out what I can (don't need buck-shot in the ass if ya know what I mean).

My Tacoma is not ready for that type of journey just yet (stock 2006 4x4 SR5 Reg Cab). After the holidays I'm going to order the ARB winch bumper, rims with Boggers and a lift. I really not sure how I want to approach the lift... SAW's and run 33's or Fabtech 6" and run 35's

Anyway, I'll find out what I can and keep searching for other places that will accommodate us.

i wheel corbett everyonce in a while, but you gotta be careful off the grade as wheeling is not really legal out there, theres alot of grey areas in the rules... and the fines are heavy.

but yeah, mostly mud, and water

The Corbett is a Wildlife management area and is @ 50,000 acres of water and sand and water and mud and water....You need a high truck or a buggy to go most places. The fines are not too steep (@ $50) but you would really need to be tearing up an area to be ticketed. The place is hunted for @ 9 months of the year so your only good times are may through August. it is an adventure just riding through it with a good chance to see game and to legally fish but you better have a valid license. A winch is one of your best tools to have. you also need to know where vehicles are permitted to travel. Some areas are closed to vehicles. oh, yes...You can get lost in there. Read again...LOST. So do not get too far out of pocket. Take a cell phone. The other place which borders the corbett on the west side is the Dupis Management area. This is found off CR 76 @ 25 miles from Stuart and 3 miles west of port Mayaca. This area is 22,000 acres and is in general more vehicle friendly. Again it is an adventure going through it. Still can get lost but not as easily as in corbett.
What I would do is call the Fl. Wildlife Commmission at (561) 625-5122 and ask specific questions and ask them to send you brocures on the two areas.
Good Luck and Enjoy. Richie

Let's set a get-to-together on Sunday 3/4/06, at some restaurant (u pick) around 12:30-1:00pm. I don't really know that much about the Mudfest... the 4th would be a good time to discuss that and other outings. I'm up to just about anything, I would like to see something TTORA related down South here. The guys up North (FL) are always going/doing something together offroad. We need to start getting together and do some local outings, then group up with the members from Jax.'s and so on...

I'll meet you guy's anywhere in Palm Beach County, let's get this first meeting locked in, my tired of wheeling by myself

It's hard for me to plan much of anything due to family obligations, but I'll try and keep the 4th open.

I'm in the same boat as Red as far as family is concerned. Most sundays I spend in the Glades with the wife on the airboat. I'm racing a Harescramble this weekend in Gainsville but I'l try to keep next Sunday open as well. I'm not much for the bar scene so almost evening would be cool with me to get out and meet.

BTW the next Mudfest isn't till June They have events monthly at the L-cross in Okeechobee but it's mainly an ATV type deal. Sometimes they have some decent bands playing though. Charlie Daniels plays there once a year or so and David Alan Coe is playing next month. If your into getting your truck muddy though you can sure as hell have some fun out there. I would like to have some friends to go wheeling with though as there is always safety in numbers or at the very least another truck to pull you out.

I'll tell you I'm not much into mudding my truck,mud/water does bad things to your vehicle and mine is my DD. I like watching like out at Mudfest,so for me to go mudding down some waist deep water trail probably won't happen.I will go trail riding while the water level is low but there isn't anyplace around here to go as far as I know.Where do you all go around here?

I just had to move south nearly 50 miles further.. If you set a certian date maybe I can head that way... Got to fix a couple items on the 4runner... PS pump, and exhaust. I already gave up on the oil leak...

Buy my truck so I can buy a moped.

oil leak's probably the rear main seal. it's common, but straight forward to fix. gotta drop the tranny tho

nope not the rear main.. you know that nice little overlap where the two coolant lines connect its in there below the cover plate.. it never fails do it right and it still goes wrong. i just need to find a super cheap 3.4 and an auto tranny do a divorced dual tc and be done with it. buddy already did project so i know its doable just not financially feasable.

Buy my truck so I can buy a moped.
