Corbett 7.29.06

Working on another run before it gets too deep out there. The rain has been falling, if we wait to much longer, you'll need an air boat, not a 4x4 .

I know it's short notice, I'm working around Skip's schedule. My winch bitch can't plan ahead more then a week

Any takers?
Paul are you up for another go at it?
Skip, what's up with dave?

Crazy ass Rick is ready to go, I'll contact Gus with the '72 unstickable jeep.

We met up at the Publix first last time, then off the side of the road about a mile before it turned dirt. I'm sure we wouldn't have a problem pulling you out, I know Chaz has just about anything you need to get unstuck, good thing too for him last time

I'll keep a close eye on this thread then for a time. Your talking about the Publix on Seminole Prat or the one on Northlake? I live off Apache and Northlake so I'm silly close to the dirt road leading into Corbett.

flataco,
Hello, I'm Chaz and it would be great if you do decide to join us this Saturday.
Paul and I meet up with Skip and Dave at the Publix on SPWR. Then we meet up with other guys just past BL around 10:00am.

Here's my cell number 561.239.6749, feel free to call it.
If you decide to go, please supply me (PM) a number in order for me to stay in contact before and during the trip. Do ya have a CB?

Paul, did you get a CB?

Now for the good news Trail 6 (the first one we all took last time) is under water. Gus (can't join us) told me he was out there last Sunday ('72 jeep with 38's) the water was over his hood , and he was avoiding the deep parts... Two trucks with 40's and 44's took the deep route and the water was up to their windows. So, with that said... we'll go to the Tomato grade, we can pick up on 3, 5 and 4.
Skip and Paul pull out your maps and take a look, let's get a route planned out before we get there.

It's Monday night, so guys, make sure you water proof the best you can. If you haven't already done so, pick up Dielectric Grease us it on all the electical connection, make sure you run the Diff Breather Extension . Talking form experience, check your cabs, look for ways that water would like to enter and do your best to prevent it.

NESurfer and flataco, if you have a trailer hitch, you may want to pick up a Warn Receiver Shackle Bracket or equivalent. I'm pretty sure that "Truck and Trailer USA " on Southern & the Turnpike has them in stock... give them a call first. I just want to make sure we all have recovery points front and rear Skip and I have the winches covered.

Post whore

Instead of me carry two 5 gal. fuel cans, this time I will have one 5 gal. water can and one 5 gal. fuel can. I also picked up a 2 gal. pump sprayer, that way we can get the mud off our Radiators.

Here's some links of pictures that Gus posted up on Florida4x4.com from the run last Sunday. Looks like we can pretty much drive around anything we don't want to go thru. I really think I would try most, if not all of them. If "Da Man" is willing to take care of me

The wife maybe riding shotgun, this could be interesting

Just talked to the wife and she reminded me Sunday there is an Airboat cleanup of Area 2 (We have a camp located in there). Still alot of camp owners needing to get cleaned up from Wilma last year and I promissed I'd help. So if it's Sunday I'm out.

I like a man that stands behind his words, you promised and you're sticking to it . Next time we will give you ample time to plan for a outing.

Just for the hell of it, what is "Area 2"? the airboat sounds like fun even with the clean up

Chaz area 2 is Water Management Area #2. The everglades are seperated into 3 main area's besides everglades national park. Area 3 is to the south of Aligator alley. Area 2 is to the north to the palm beach county line. Area 1 (you can only bass fish in there with a regular boat) extends to about Wellington. All 3 area's are where civilization ends and the real Florida begins. They are all like no place on earth and I'm prud to be a part of it. If you have never been on a real airboat ride (not one of those barges that take 25 people at a time) you have to do it sometime.
