Invader from the desert

New to CO board, but been on TTORA over a year. frequent pot stirrer on teh AZ board and occasionally on the WA board. I'm originally from WA. Moved to AZ in 2000.

Just got back from a week in Ouray. Was my 3rd trip but my g/f's first. last time I went was about 4 years ago for a couple of days at a time. Went to Montrose the previous 2 times as well. Die tryin was our mission in Montrose. the new group I went with this year have done Ouray every year for like 6 years so we are talkin about some new stuff next year, Ouray for a few days, Montrose for a couple, maybe Leadville? or GJ? I'm here to research some areas.

here's my junk, specs are in my sig line;
In Moab

So if you're looking to come for a week or so to run hard trails, here's what I would recommend:

1 days in Montrose, Die Tryin', Cactus 2
(sorry, can't find directions!)

2 days in Buena Vista, Carnage, Iron Chest, others
http://www.4x4trails.net/db_view_trail.php?trailNum=475

1 day running Independence, Patriot, Liberty
http://www.4x4trails.net/db_view_trail.php?trailNum=171

1 day Holy Cross
http://www.4x4trails.net/db_view_trail.php?trailNum=63

1 day in Grand Junction: Billings, 21 Road
http://www.4x4trails.net/db_view_trail.php?trailNum=170

Wow, thanks alot Redrunner..... That Holy Cross trail is badass in teh write ups on here. I know where teh Montrose trails are. Well I know where Die ryin is.

We'll will definately take this list into consideration. You didn't leave much time for travel between trails? Also we'll all be in campers/trailered rigs and in need of camp areas.

Thanks, it was taken by a friend who is a photographer by hobby. he got some awesome shots while in Moab. I have a 20 x 30 poster of it as well. It looks alot more dramatic than it was.

It is teh bigger of the 3 hot tubs on Hells revenge.

The trails aren't that far from each other going this way ... couple hours or so.

Montrose -> BV -> Indy -> HC -> GJ

Longest leg is Montrose -> BV I think.

EDIT: Checked on Mapquest, each leg is between 2-3 hrs
