not really a noob

not really a noob but havent had time to jump on ttora, names kirk, have a 83 4x4, i built it from the ground up, literally.......got the truck as a frame and body

84 4-runner front axle
85 4-runner rear------------88 housing in the works with 4 link
5in lift
custom rear shackles
custom sliders
grant wheel
35 14.50 15 super swampers
14x15 weld wheels
led brake lights
led turn signals
h4 conversion headlights
industrial machine paint job (custom mixed color)
supra seats
8in jl sub
22re swapped
ford front shock mounts
square front drive shaft
on-bored air
lincoln locked rear
plus more i just cant think right now

to come

5.29s
finish the 4 link
build bumpers
build cargo box
tube rear of truck
replace front tires
rebuild front end----knuckels and inner axle seals
replace trans with newer 5 speed (broke reverse when i broke a leaf)
turbo with mega squirt
cross over steering with ifs box


Finnish rear 4 link



did i mention finishing the 4 link?????

right on just trying to get all of the math exactly right, i think somone should do a write up on building a 4 link for 5 in of lift on 35's something that alot of people are running.......therefor you could just have a step by step and all the cut lengths and mounting locations for everything.....links, the bridge, mounting points on the frame everything

Ummmm - I'm getting a bit concerned now.

You HAVE seen the Pirate 4 link calculator, right?

You're not just guessing and saying "that looks good" are you? Seriously - a 1/4" matters. Being off by 1" can really be the difference between an evil handling truck and a great handling one!

I'll find and bump my old build thread with all the links in it for you to read up on...

thanks and yes im using the link calculator im just saying it would be nice to have a spreadsheet with basic measurements

I asked TrailGear what their setup was like, and they emailed me a picture of the calculator screen. I've since deleted it, but you could try that ... their crossmember in the front is really high though - you have to lose the bed to make their setup work.
