not really new but back

I finally got another tacoma after my 02 was totaled on old stage road. My fiance and i found a pretty good deal on a '00 single cab. the first thing i'm doing to this one is armor and I am going with the trail gear sliders, and was wondering if anyone knew how hard it would be to modify there front and rear bumpers to fit my 2000? they have them listed for 1990-1995 heres the link http://trail-gear.com/toy-bumper.html

It would be doable, but you would have to put a crossmember in between your front frame rails. i am planing on doing this when i build my next bumper to help stiffen everything up there up a bit anyway.

welcome back.

I think the frame is wider on your Taco than the pre-Taco frames.

You'll probably spend as much time/money modifying a preTaco bumper as you would buying one built for your model truck.

I am not completely sure without having your truck and the bumper both at hand, but i believe so. you also should check and see what the front frame witdh differences are between the pre taco and the taco. i think the tacos are a bit wider and you may run into fender interference issues.

all in all i am sure you could make one work, just dont know how much work it would take to modify the bumper.

thanks, hopefully I can get this thing locked and armored before the snow melts and be ready to do some trails this summer. I told the fiance we would take care of the wedding first lol.

Go to justice of the peace get married cheap! Then all the money you saved can go into your build. Don't tell her it was my idea. She will drive over and kill me.

We have H.O.W.'s for that (House of Wrenching) to help you install sliders, and then thhfatkid (Brian) who is a master tech at Goove Toyota, does sidework on gearing. Might as well re-gear if you have stock when you do the lockers!

well from the research I've done the sticker on my truck says I have 4.30's but I read that some guy had the same number I do and his truck had 4.56's. orange crusher and I think it has 4.56's so I'm not sure if I am going to regear because this is my dd.
