Kelly Flats 6/16

5 of us went and ran Kelly flats. was a great day out on the trail. we pushed a newbie alittle past his comfort level, had 3 trucks run the chutes and even had a good old flop that let us practice winching skills.

as usual i didnt have a camera so you will have to wait for them to post up pics

i'd imagine too much throttle on the wrong line on the chutes?

however, posting in a past events - photos section and NOT posting even one pic? that is sinister... especially with a flop involved haha!

I was trying a different line from what everyone else took and just got way to laid over. Glass is still there so that's all good. Door is a little smashed in but im sure it will pop out and small dents on door post and up above the door on the roof. But nothing serious. That was my first flop and that was exciting.

First off, huge thanks to everyone there today. Especially Ike for his spotting and hand-holding (yes, I'm the newb, he took the hill bypass with me as I was too chicken and then spotted when I asked him on that because I was worried about my experience/skill vs some rocks) and stubby for the pull up that mud. But everyone really, it was cool to meet all of you and it was a fun time. My roommate saw one of the pics of me on the mud and described it as my 'worried but having a blast' face. It was a VERY educational run for me. I'll probably expand on that a little more later, but right now I'm pretty beat.

Yeah, I got quite a few more pics than I expected to. In fact, after dumping all the total waste (out of focus/etc) and even some of the boring ones, I've still got 90 left. I'm still figuring out how I want to handle those (batch job it, etc), but I'll give you a preview here in a sec. Also, sorry for crossing in that one shot stubby posted - I'm usually incredibly good about that.

Chris, no worries, today was a blast.

Kyle, you can see the line he was on in the 5th pic posted above, that was taken just prior to the flop. devinately didnt look like that tippy of a line, but i think he sunk into the mud a bit right after that and that is when the flop occured.

So Ike was packing the tampax and took the bypass up heart murmur hill... did he try smoking clutch on the chutes?

Something tells me that mud pit is going to be so dug out by the end of the season, it'll make for a really nice obstacle next season.

Edit: Oh and for the midweek run.
