Last minute Chinamans run 1/14/12

My buddy Jeremiah (used to own the red turbo 4Runner) has been itching to get out and test his new build. @He built a 3rd Gen 4Runner and hadn't gotten to take it out on the rocks yet. @I called Jeff last minute to see if he wanted to get out of his garage crawler status @ @I also invited Cory and another buddy Robert.

We were greeted with great weather in BV all day! @The high was close to 50 degrees. @Not bad for mid January in CO. @Too bad the mountains need this snow though. @We started @ 10:30 and got back to the parking lot @ 3:30. @We took our time, took some pictures and video and enjoyed the day. @No traffic on the trail until we got to the stair steps towards the end.

I also took quite a bit of video with the GoPro. @I'll try and edit that up when I can.

Picture didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it but it's hard to drive and shoot pics at the same time. @

The Mtns. lighting up with some sun

Trail sign

Group shot. @From left to right - DIRTCO, CrankyCrawler, CU4Runner4Runner, myself, and Cory

Can't even call it Squeeze Rock anymore but the photo op is a good one

Been a while since Jeff has seen some dirt. @It was good to get him out!

Cory and his trusty Toyota

Jeremiah and his new bling 4Runner.

Robert and his wife EJ

Why I love wheeling so much!

There was still alittle snow on the trail. @Didn't even affect us except for us making the left line at Whale Rock.

Cory navigating the whoops.

I tried the left line at the Rock Pile. @I made it a year ago. @It's dug out big time now. @Worth a shot to try

And round the easier way for me

Such a well built, clean 4Runner

Robert showing his flex

The only really slick part of the trail. @DIRTCO made it no problems up the middle line.

CUbuff4Runner posing after Whale Rock. His 4Runner flexes good for leaf springs!

CrankyCrawler up the middle line

Posing as well

Jeff up the big ledge before the stair steps.

Cory up the left line on the stair steps.

On our way out

Awesome pictures. I have never watched Jeremiah drive that Runner, is he afraid of body damage? Its almost too nice to wheel.

Thanks! This was his first trip out with it being fully built. He had it out at the Jambo but it wasn't finished (no armor). Now that it's done, he's planning on wheeling it.

What a great day to be out on the trail, I cant wait to go again! The new 4Runner worked awesome, better than I expected. I was able to take most of my favorite lines without an issue. Im glad everyone was able to make it out.

Your right, it's almost too nice to wheel! But that's what I built it for, I wanted a nice, comfortable daily driver that I could also run moderate trails in. It has bumpers, sliders, and skid plates so I should be able to run most of my favorite trails without much of an issue if I choose my lines carefully (knock on wood).

I only took one picture, I was too busy getting used to the 4Runner.

Nice pictures. That trail seems pretty serious. I looked at traildamage and I believe it is still too much for my stockish truck. I hope to get slider and under armor this spring and hopefully run that trail.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Weird, it's just a link to the video. Strange, I'll look into it. Thanks for the heads up.
