I need to get some parts...places and prices?

So putting Lexi back together im going to need a few parts. Here is what i have come up with so far.

New carpet-Found a place on line that sent colors and for 130 it has floormats to match and the rubber foot pad thing like factory.

I need a longer CB antenna wire. When she goes back together i want to put the Antenna on the tire rack at the end of the bed. Truck stop didnt have them...Any places you guys know in longmont-Foco?

Heater core- Thinking factory is the best but dont want to know how much. I want best quality but dont want to drop 300 on something i can get for 100 and be just as good.I DONT want to replace this again for like 20 years. Places/Brands/cost?

Steering linkage bushings. I have heard of it called a "rag joint" but not sure. Its the rubber thing that is at the pump on the steering shaft. Mines dry and everyone i know that doesnt have toyota broke theres. I might as well do it while im in there. same questions.

Body mounts, Stock or poly if they dont make noise. Mine are looking kinda dry.

Pedal and shifter bushings. The goal is to make it feel as tight as possible when its done. I have all new front end parts for her to hold me over for the summer and may need a few stock pieces to return her back to near stock cause gas is killing me right now but the pieces i wont be changing out with the axles and steering swap should be done now. The bushings are new and steering parts new,Bearings were done last summer and rear end was rebuilt late last summer.

Interior door pulls for the doors OR someone who can stich like crazy who can cover the ones i have for me. My buddy who does interior keeps getting sent out of state for work so i need a shift boot set too.

Like i told Nate..cant buy a NEW truck so i need to build one in phases to be new. Im putting the dents, scrapes and holes in it this round.

Thanks...Lexi is loving all her new goodies.

CB shop in Johnson's Corner should have the wire.

Energy Suspension has poly busings for just about everything on our trucks.

x2 for both.. I've been using suspension.com to order my energy suspension stuff. Good folks to work with, quick getting it shipped and very easy if the ES package is missing a part (like a washer in the steering rack bushing kit).

Try to find the younger guy at Johnson's corner (the CB Shop), he's been easier to work with than the older guy.

Garage
Radioshack sells 15 ft cb ant cables. I think you may have to make your antenna shorter if your cable is very long though.

I thought 18' was the standard length - I know that's what mine is ... I got it at the T/A truck stop on Ward Rd.

So you wanna help Russell get some?

I don't think he swings that way, but sure appreciates the willingness to help!

Not sure what it is But its not long enough to run to the back corner of the bed, Thats why its in an old hole for a roll bar that was once in there.

I would really like to either get a shorter antenna and set it higher on the tire carrier or mount it out of harms way on the rear of the truck or tire carrier with the long stick.

Im going be playing with it i guess....Anyone good with CB's that woould be willing to help me set it up? Mine seems to suck. Even my 20 year old kraco junker and mag mount i threw to bart works way better then mine. mines a new cobra and a new fiberglass antenna and all the cables are new.....

Make sure your SWR is set properlly. That's the most basic biggest thing. Fiberglass antennas are ok but a base loaded antenna such as a Wilson 5000 would be much better. Like I've said before with CBs grounding is a big part of the battle. Making sure your whole truck is seen as one ground plain to your antenna will help greatly. Use ground strap or large gauge wire. If you use small wire it won't even help. As far as coax goes 18' is a normal length. If you want more you could probably get it from the CB shop at Johnsons Corner. But don't expect service with a smile there. Regular old Belden cable will be fine for your app. There's a huge debate if cable lenght effects your radios performance. I don't think it does. But whatever.

Not sure but can't you replace the rag joint with a u-joint??? I think a rag joint only serves three purposes. To be a cheap low angle u-joint for manufacturers to use instead of an expensive metal u-joint, to tear away in case of a horrible accident, and to further dampen any vibration from the stearing/suspension directly to the stearing wheel. That's my take. I could be totally wrong. I would think a u-joint would be much more durable in a 4wd application.

Is IFS something you can get penicillin for???

That Ragjoint thing has been fine for years and never been replace. Twice it sat in a field for about 2 years and everything rotted except that so i think a new one will be ok. I really hate to play trial and error with my steering parts and want the truck to drive as nice as possible. Trying to keep it as a nice daily and a great trail rig.

Thanks for the info with the CB i will be looking in to this as i get closer.
