Installing Full hydro on your bender for CHEAP!

This is about as cheap as you can do it. I have a Pro Tools 105HD that I have been manually bending on for a LONG time. Using John's JD2 full hydro bender was enough to make me swear not to want to ever manually bend again.

So, one of my fellow Pirate4x4 vendors sent me a bracket kit to add a 8ton Air/Hydro ram from Harbor Freight. The ram runs $99 usually, and the bracket kit runs $88.

You will have to do some welding, and redrill all of the punch out holes on the brackets, but its cheap, and IMO still worth it.

Here is the bracket kit from Copperhead Fab:

And the ram you need from Harbor Freight:

I got the ram in this morning and went o work getting everything welded together and installed and got it working tonight. I am still waiting on my new degree wheel from Scott at Rock Buggy Supply, but at least I can get some more tubing bent for more bumpers.

Here are some pics:

Eventually I will modify my bender to go upright with it, but for now this will get the job done.

Anyway, for under $200, you can get full hydro for your bender.

It was never really an issue just doing cages, but when you start bending out 15 bumpers at a time, pulling that damn handle gets OLD!

Was just curious, might need some 1.5" bent, and my buddies only have 1" pipe and 1.75" tubing dies ...

Don't have it yet - it's for fender hoops for the front. .120" at the heaviest.

Nice setup!! I've borrowed my brother's bender and it's got a 10-ton bottle jack. I've been looking at the air powered 10 ton jacks HF to convert it

I just reread my title, and adjusted it. It did sound like a for sale ad.
