4runner seats in tacoma

Well, I got if finished today. I installed seats out of a 97 4Runner in my 97 Tacoma.

This link does an adequate job of describing what the mod is like.

I picked up the seats at Yota Yard.

ah, some day for me too. I just want to have something more comfortable than my bench...which is just about anything.

They are comfortable...the truck originally had the split bench seat. I picked up a pair of Tacoma bucket seats which were an improvement, but this is a big step up. I wanted to put in a set of powered leather 4Runner seats, but dang...finding the wiring harness that powers the seats is dang difficult. I found these seats and jumped on them instead.

Why not just take the rails off the taco seat and install them on the runner seats? I though the bases were the same.

I forgot to add, those look sweet

thats what I thought too. Ive been trying to find a pair. not really looking but if im in a junkyard for parts anyway ill take a look. buckets are on my list of "things to get done eventually" not the "damn I need that now" list.

I looked at swapping out the rails. When I took the plastic cover piece off, the bolt alignment for the seat portion is similar but there is a difference in the bolt pattern for the seat back on each side.

Can anyone tell me what those seats are from. I have back issues, and my current seats SUCK. I've really enjoyed FJ80 seats, and was wondering if thats what those were.

These are very difficult to find from what I can find from searching and talking to folks. The guys at Yota Yard tell me seats of this calibur don't stay there long at all. Your best bet is to watch ebay or craigslist like a hawk and see if you can find them from an individual who just wants them out of the garage...and Good Luck!

Looks great! A few of questions, if you don't mind:

1. Do the seats flip forward so you can get access to the back?

2. How much did you pay at the Yota Yard for the 4runner seats?

3. Did you get the console at same time?

1. yes, but don't autoslide forward like taco seats

2. $250 for the set less $100 credit for the taco seats

3. already had the console
