Sliders are on! kinda.

So i ordered the demello bolt on sliders.
Three of the four mounts bolt to factory holes and one needs to be drilled.
No big deal.
I mock the up to mark where i need to drill and there is no way to get a drill in there.
Even with an angle head i do not have enough room to drill.
Anyone else have these. Suggestions?
I am thinking of drilling and taping a hole in the bottom of the mount and putting a bolt in that way but the i have the head of the bolt sticking off the bottom of my frame.

Other than this i am really happy with them. Really like the looks, seem stout, and Demellos customer service was great.

Sliders!

cut off wheel, or sawzall maybe. you will need a benchtop vise to hold the bit while you cut it.

Personally, if I need to shorten a bit, I just stick the part in a vise that I don't want and then snap the bit off and then regrind the end. Less work, is to get the length you want, wrap a rag around it, stick it in a vise, snap it off and then use that part in the chuck. Warning: You can damage the chuck if not careful doing it this way.

My bits usally break in action and then i just grind down the tip to approx 45*.

It works fine after that.

If you dont have a vise, put the drillbit in the dril and cut the bit down with a cut off wheel, then grind it down.

I put it in a vise and cut the shank off with a hacksaw. Have to be careful that the bit is centered in the chuck when you drill with it though ...
