Drive Shaft - Lost weight, Bad Vibration
So I guess I lost a weight on my drive shaft. I couldn't figure out why I had a really bad shimmy in the stearing wheel and thought it was a tire balance issue. After having my MT/R's rebalance twice, I decided to have the shop look a little farther. Diagnosis......
1) Missing drive shaft balance weight.
2) Four u-joints needing replacing
3) Carrier Baring needing replaceing
I know taking out a drive shaft shouldn't be too hard. Since they want almost $400 in labor to replace the u-joints, carrier baring, and resassemble/balace the drive train, I was wondering if I could/should do all but the balanceing myself. Any tips, on how much of a chore this would be?? I work on dirtbikes all the time, less on my truck, and info would be helpful.
