the "Brookmobile"

it started life as a pile of parts delivered to my place by Vman, almost 2 years later it has become the "Brookmobile"

Why's it called the "Brookmobile"?

Lose the purple tint and I'd say it's a winner

its a 88 runner, extremely clean aka no rust anywhere, I hope to later on get it on some 35's but its got to have some work done.
Glen says he thinks the driveshaft is hitting the tcase linkage because when in 4 lo it jerks and pops ??

A carb will be just fine for what he plans to do. The efi system on these old trucks need quite a bit of tlc to be up to good operating standards. There are just to many possible problems for my liking.

Yea im lovin the carb mod at least i know how to work on it. Now if i can just find me a 5 speed to put in the place of that auto ill be in good shape since im havin to shift it like a standard anyway. Dont really like automatics anyway. Wanna put a 5.0 HO in it but Glen wont let me. Oh well.

it runs, it drives, it needs a heater core

we figured out finally (ok Oddmar figured it out) it was rust in the fuel tank.

it was fine enough to get through the fuel filter and clog the injectors. we pulled the entire fuel system out and cleaned it all and the fuel rail had probably a tablespoon full of rust in it alone.

next project will be putting some rings in it. its going through a quart of oil in 20 miles

OH, we had to replace the auto trans. when running the carb on it the electronics in the trans werent working and the hyd pressure being down burned up the clutches in it. the one from the white 86 runner bolted up after swapping the harness to the 88 harness and shifts perfectly.

So what part of this was worth your asking price of 1500. I think you werent really serious about selling.
