Great Stuf... Not so great.

So I was working with great stuff expanding foam insulation about 3 hours ago and got it pretty much all over my hands. I've tried everything, GoJo, WD-40, denatured alcohol, paint thinner, corn oil, and of course, soap and some elbow grease. I'm at a loss as to how to get it off. It's all over me. I'm probably done trying for the night becuase my hands feel like they are on fire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, did that ONCE and learned to wear gloves the second time...
Once it dries, just start peeling away...

Acetone only works on uncured foam.

US Composites offers polyurethane foam, and the following is from their FAQ
(http://www.shopmaninc.com/faq_foam.html#15)

15. Can I dissolve this foam once it has fully cured?

No. This foam is designed to be completely solvent resistant once cured. Gasoline and acetone will not cause any destruction of this foam. Please prepare ahead of time by covering any objects/areas that you do not want to come in contact with this highly adhesive product. If you do happen to spill some foam and it cures you will have to either sand or scrape the product away.

From great stuff's website:
"cured foam must be mechanically removed or allowed to wear off in time. "

Gasoline will take it off. The higher octane stuff is usually less stinky.

Quit yer whining and read this if you think you got problems. LOL

This is one of the funniest things I've read in my life and this is the perfect opportunity to bring it back to life for some of you newbies.

BTW The foam is urethane so will pretty much just have to wear off in a few days as your skin flakes and secretes oil to release it from your skin. Gorilla glue is the same kinda shit so be sure to use gloves if you ever work with that stuff too.

I admit to being Crazy but I'm not Stupid

Oh shit I forgot to post the link in the previous reply.
It was Herculiner and was covered in the famous Hootus thread. That thread went on and on and circled the globe like wildfire. It's well worth the read. I laughed so hard it hurt. Here it is.

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...ad.php?t=18595

Then there is this. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=262311

I have personally dumped a T Case full of gear lube in my crotch. It didn't hurt but was uncomfortable and that shit stinks to high heaven. At least it wasn't hot, that could have been really bad. LOL

I didn't do that or maybe I would. I think the guy was almost famous for a while there.

It's good for when you're having a really down day. I guess I give it a look see about once every year or so and it still cracks me up. I always seem to find something new to laugh at.

I did that once and had 2 days of hell. The third day we were pouring like 300 yards of concrete so I purposly didnt wear gloves. The scrubbing of the concrete and keeping my hands moist seemed to scrape off all of the foam and I was ready for business. My girlfriend finally let me touch her again.

Funny... I have been married?? I think 12 yrs. now. I will put a little gorilla glue on my hands from time to time, just so I don't have to touch the wife...." No honey. Look at my hands!!!"

I did the same yesterday, except I didn't go to the great lengths you did to get it off. Like others have said, it just peals off like dead skin.
