TTORA SETO/ Crawford's Questions

Last year at SETO I went up on Thursday after work stayed at my dad's place in Unicoi (Ga), went to Tellico on Friday morning ran into some NC guys and rode with them for the day. I had planned on meeting up with some of the GA chapter but, I had a family emergency and had to leave on Friday night. While I was there, I had no idea how everything worked, as far as getting with an appropriate group for trails, or anything else for that matter. This year I have scheduled time off of work and will be staying at Crawfords I guess. So I have a few questions on what the norm is for the group if there is one...
1) Are you guys roughing it (Tents) or pulling campers up, staying in Bunks or Cabins? I have a large camper (33') but can't drive two trucks or pull two trailers so I would have to get the camper up in advance etc...(Tents or cabins may be easier)
2) Are reservations required ahead of time for primitive campers?
3) I have read there are basically two groups..(Body damage and no body damage) I know the trails change in difficulty, but are the harder trails accesible to bystanders like the exit of Lower 2 for example, or Is the no body damage group limited to the dirt roads pretty much like trail 1 maybe 4 ?

I am really a newbie to Tellico, only been on trails 4,5,and part of upper 2. I know my rig and abilities are not up for trails such as lower 2 and do not want to get caught in a bad situation, hold the group up unnecessarily etc..

Any insight would be appreciated...Thanks..

camping, part of the SETO experience, being in a crowd of tents is a lot more fun and a better way to meet everyone than having everyone off in their own cabin.

Sat morning we usually have an extreme group and a moderate/beginner group. If we have a bunch of people we split those groups.
Stick with the moderate group you'll have fun, we dont mind "hold-ups" and we'll hit some fun spots.

We prob need to go ahead and get a group reservation so we can all be camped together. Kyle? Anyone?

I was wondering how the camping thing was going to work out. I'll probably end up walking the whole day with a group. Colin, you think its do-able? I know you walked almost the entire day at the Cleanup...would we move about that same pace? Its tough to find 2 seats (for me and the g/f) and I hate bothering people for them, so I was just wondering if walking ws possible. (the only thing my truck can do is Trail 1 - and I've done tha enough not to be fun anymore. lol) Thanks!

the only thing about camping from last years experience, each state chapter did their own group thing. I think ttora as a whole should be in one area and not in cells.

Agreed.. Mark and I will need to talk to Danny about the camping sites. We could take over the whole right side with as many people as that were there last year.

That would pretty much exclude us with RV's and campers then being on the opposite side where the hookup's are... Oh well - still separate groups prevail...

not to be smart, but what difference does it make? everybody is going to socialize around fires, etc. remember 2 years ago, we did. last year, nobody got back to camp before 2AM, anyway. doesn't make much difference where you finally go to sleep.

jack just buy a golf cart, strap it to the trailer and then you can run around crawfords. Johnny law might come after you for speeding though.

Has anyone done this or are we all reserving seperately?

I think I"m going to register and go to the SE4RJ as well, anyone else? Hopefully, I won't break anything major. They (SE4RJ)have a site for registration, rig requirements, schedule of events, catered meal, etc.. Is there anything similar for the SETTORA event, other than the who's going thread?

I know it is early still (8 weeks) but my weekends fill up quick, so I have to plan ahead a little, and I hate going anywhere un prepared, wishing i would have known to bring this or that..
