As much as all of these guys have contributed to the board, and the community as a whole, I think they are all great canidates, but we need to make sure we're not going to elect someone who doesnt have a lot of free time or isnt on regularly. That being said, that list pretty much looks the same as mine, so I'll just wait for the poll.

Thanks, but no thanks. Greg, you flatter me, but I feel that there has to be a much better prez than I could ever be.
I will vote for my canidate, but I do not want to be considered for this honor.

Thanks Greg, involvement of what it takes for president needs to be address also. Pc skills to run such a board, probably hrs running the board. What problems the board needs to be addressed?
Hell, my days of surfing the old internet hopefully will come to an end with a job, marriage, etc.

I would say add your name Greg, but your betraying us and heading for Auburn.

One thing we need to keep in mind is do we want a prez who is an expert at wheeling, but lacks in the computer area, or do we want one who can run this board wonderfully, and keep things smooth here, and may not know as much about wheeling....just a thought.

Why do they have to be an expert at either? It's always good to be learning something all the time. I'm still relatively new to the weeling my own junker, but have learned from others in the past and try to pass on what I know.

I think first and foremost is having a pres that is involved, whether they are building for months on end (Kyle) or actually get out and wheel every single weekend they need to be able to generate, and maintain the present level of interest and participation - on the trail and the forum.

Someone who consitently interacts, helps plan runs, generates interest for future events, and keeps us informed of all sorts of wheeling related news and events.

Computer skills IMO takes a back seat, that can always be volunteered by any member capable or as a last resort, outsourced.

They dont have to be an expert at anything, just involved.

I'd be up for helping or whatever if running/monitoring the board is too much..heck I did for the GA cruisers and that board is dead. But they had regular meetings (which is harder here I understand)

I think Kyle has been officially staying out of it on purpose.
There is a thread in the general discussions section about his official resignation. He asked us to have a poll and come up with a new Prez.

Then we also have to vote on a new ....what is Colin's title?
Hes land use involvement responsibility guy.... Which I think is one the TOP jobs in our chapter, but if Colin becomes Prez, we're gonna need a new one of those too.

Alan (Alan11116)
Colin (Got Cope?)

Greg, you gonna put up this poll, and lets see what its all about?

I'm up for it, but the way Kyle is unloading it so fast I kinda want to know the details to this situation? Since i'm out of the loop of details I fear there is some unknown beast to be dealt w/. From what i see it can't be to hard, just time and efforts.

I appreciate everybody's enthusiasm in getting this subject moving, but, let's also try to keep our personal choices/opinions to ourselves. It will just make it easier, that way. Cool?

Guys, Id like to suggest a format for electing the next president, to keep it fair and organized for the whole chapter, voters and candidates.

If I get good feedback on this format and Kyle will confirm this format is fair and plausible, then the links you'll notice below will shortly appear after getting the "ok".

To keep it fair I believe any and all who wish to be considered should have their chance. For example 4inT100, if you’d like to take a shot, simply nominate yourself.

Format:

A) I will create a thread solely for the purpose of confirming who the candidates are. If you want in, post saying so. Please no other posts in this thread. The only way to get in the running is to post yourself in the running, no one may nominate anyone else. This keeps the thread clean and posts to potential candidates only.

You will have till Monday 7/23 at 6pm EST to nominate yourself. This gives everyone time to consider and read up on presidential responsibilities.

NOMINATE YOURSELF HERE. (link to be created)

B) Then a poll will be created with all candidates. A primary vote if needed (more than 3 candidates) will run beginning Monday 7/23 at 6 pm through Thursday 7/26 till 6 pm.

Thursday 7/26 at 6 pm EST a final poll will be created with the top 2 candidates so that anyone who’s candidate lost in the primary can reevaluate and recast their vote. This final poll will run till Tuesday 7/31 till Midnight. The new President will be announced August 1st whenever Kyle and our other ballot counter finish..

C) My next suggestion is to have votes counted by email. A private poll is good, obviously. But it gives outsiders and trolls an chance to skew the results.

My thoughts are to create a temporary email account and give Kyle and one other member access to count the votes. To have your vote counted and to make sure it is accounted for, there will be a “Vote” thread, you will post saying you have sent your vote to the designated email address. This way we can see by the posts who the legitimate voters are, as well as check to make sure all posters votes are accounted for in case your email is kicked back for instance.

Cliff notes: email your vote in, then post confirming your vote has been sent.

SEND BALLOT HERE (email address to be created)

CONFIRM YOUR EMAIL BALLOT HERE (link to be created)

Obviously if a primary is needed two rounds of emails will be needed.

Title primary email as VOTE

if needed final voting emails titled as FINAL VOTE.

Who agrees/disagrees with this format? Too complicated or fair enough?
As I said this is a suggestion, who's happy with this and who prefers a blind private poll? Do I need to create a poll to decide the poll?

Kyle, you’re still pres, so if you could assist in guiding us through this properly we’d appreciate it. Please offer your advice and suggestions.

Kyle will this format interfere with a deadline for a new pres? What is the deadline?

IMHO (which i know means nothing -and im okay with that) this is crazy, do we really think people are sneaking into GA TTORA to skew our presidential votes?
TN TTORA voted right up just like my poll I posted, and they had no issues, they went from nominations to new president ( and events coordinator) elected and done in 2 days. We have already spent 2 days on this, and we are still zero closer to ...anything.

just my .02 worth, which is probably a .02 that no one wants, but really..... I said my peice. Flame away, and im done.

PS - I was just trying to move things a long...presumably anyone who read the resignation thread would have read THIS.

Thats just what Im asking Kyle spilled the beans 2 days ago and I think everyone is just anxious, as am I, to find out who the new president is.

Personally I'd prefer a 100% fair, methodical election. but Im just another member.
If it appears a quick, get-it-over-with decision is preferred thats fine too.

Honestly, all this guarantees is that everyone comes out feeling confident and agreeable with the election process. Too many times things are rushed, people get overlooked and left out. Feelings get hurt etc.

I personally would have felt terrible to win and then have Christian or Chris or T100 say they wish they'd had a chance to be considered. I would then suggest starting over.

Like I said this just ensures all potential candidates get a fair shake. If TN can hold and complete the whole process in 2 days thats fine, that works for them. It might work for us. Thats why Im asking for input.
