moderate shimmy at speed
yes, i think it needs an alignment
but when i put the front on jack stands
whiggle a front wheel, I find most of the free play at the
steering rack housing bushings
Toyota says I can't repace just the bushings
have to replace the whole rack or rack housing
anyone know of aftermarket bushings specific to my rack
any other forums that have a good classified section

the middle one is a pain in the ass cuz of the steering rack hard lines and lack of space, i even have small hands. did them all and definatly felt a more direct steering response, my stock bushings werent too bad but i figured the poly would last longer especially for water crossings, anyways my 2 :2cents:

If you have the diff drop on there it is more of a pain in the arse because the long bolt won't come out all of the way. It gets almost all of the way out and hits the front diff. But if you dont have the diff drop it is not that bad. Have done it on my truck and my g/f's Runner. Definitely worth while and only costs like $18.
