05 rearend size

I was wondering if Anyone knows what size rear is in the new 05's I have an XRunner and I am sure it would be same as a prerunner or the Sport package. Does anyone know if it the 8.4" again cause I wanna get a little deeper gear in my X like 3.30 or 3.55

I don't know of any X-Runner specific gearsets.

According to the Tacoma brochure TRD and X-runners come with 3.73 gears. Not sure what gears are in a standard 4.0 but I can look it up if anyone needs the info.

NO
TRD Sport comes with 3.73
XRunner has 3.15 gears

I wonder if the 6spd and the auto X-runner have the same gears. Maybe the 6spd has the 3.15 and the auto has the 3.73?

There is no such thing as an Auto Xrunner...they only come in 6spd
and only have the 3.15 gears

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm new to Tacos. Has anyone put 4.10 gear in a Tacoma?

well if they are saying that in that site then they are very mis informed even the tacoma book at the toyota dealer says 3.15 for the XRunner...3.73 only come in the v6 4x4

What? I never mentioned any gear ratios, but just to clear this up, here's what TIS lists for ratios:

X-Runner: 3.153

PreRunner I-4: 4.100

PreRunner V-6, A/T and M/T: 4.100, 3.73 optional on TRDs

4x4 I-4: 4.10

4x4 V-6, A/T and M/T: 4.100, 3.73 optional on TRDs

That's the way I interpreted the table.
