I just had my driver's-side window wiper go out. It acted like it was frozen to the windshield when I got it this evening (pas side was operating normally). I scraped the ice off, turned on the wipers and the driver's side was not swiping all the way to the left. Each time (on inter.) it was moving less and less. Then it was poping the right-side wiper and finally it did not move at all. Is there some sort of shear pin on the wiper that fails to save the motor? I am hoping to take it in to the dealer tomorrow morning. I will let you guys know what they say.

Mine did the same thing one snowy day. Took it into the dealers and they fixed it in two minutes. I think it was just a pin or something that when over loaded causes the blades to break free so the motor doesn't burn out. The guy just told me to pull my blades away from the window if I'm expecting a significant snow fall and to clear the windows before using the blades. They work fine and it's been a few months since the incident.

Turned out to be a loose nut (on the truck not in my head). The wiper arm nut needed to be tighted. I felt a little foolish going in for something so simple. The service guy said they get 'em in often, so I guess I am not alone.
