Hey I was wondering if anyone knows if I can put 15" wheels (15x8) on a 2002 TRD that came with 16x7's from the factory. The main reason is that the 15" tires and wheels are a lot cheaper than the 16" wheels my Taco came with. Any input is appreciated!

Thanks Bryan...is there any certain backspacing I need? I was just going to get some of those el cheapo black 15x8 rims and 31x10.50 mudders.

You will need to do carefull research on your wheel selection. I run the MT line with no problem. Some black steelies will not clear. It has more to do with the taper inside the center section of a wheel than with BS. The black steel wheels with the "D" shaped windows are known to not clear. I use a cheap white wagon wheel that fits great. A little blast and spray and I could make a set of black steelies that fit. . I recomend you test fit the wwheel on a front hub prior to purchase. I once composed a list of wheels that fiot but unfortuanetly I cannot find it at this time.

I think the ones I was gonna get were called rockcrawlers...they were on 4wdparts.com for about 40 bucks a piece. I think they had 3.75" backspacing

the rockcrawlers with the D window do not fit ,they will not clear the caliper. if you just want some nice 15" black steelies get these ones. i have an '02 and i didnt have to do anything to them, they fit perfect as is. they are made for tacomas and look fantastic. alot of peeps on here run them including me.
heres the link

Those wheels from wheelers are just what I've been looking for. Since I plan on lifting my truck soon I guess I'll have to get the type b backspacing so I can run 33x12.50's on it.

yup, exactly correct. i love the rims. also if you ever have any questions , wheelers are great about answering any concerns you have about the rims or anything else they carry.

I am running a 265/70/17 combo basically a 32X11.5R17 tire wheel pkg from discount with full roadhazard warranty just at 1k. Id show a pick but the truck and wheels are dirty from all of the rain. I would seriously recommend you check out the Nitto terra grappler tires. Price on a set of 4 for 16 inch wheels is actually right under 500 bucks with warranty.

These wheels in 17"
