I've got a 99 Tacoma w/2.7 engine. During cold weather below 35 degrees. When starting up cold it sounds like a rod knock, vehicle only has 65k miles. Owned the vehicle since new, changed oil regularly using synthetic since 10k miles. Has anybody else had this or is having this problem? Any help would be great.
Thanks

If it goes away when the engine warms up, then it is piston slap. Perfectly normal for our engines.

i posted this about 2 or 3 weeks ago, lots of responses and a link to a good article, search for it. Basically everyone said it is normal on the engine so no worries.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah when the vehicle warms up it's gone. Thanks again.
