I was wondering how much oil you 2.7 guys put in your trucks. I just want to make sure i am putting in the right amount. I still have not found a way to mount that freaking dipstick yet.

Thanks alot guys

i mounted my dipstick, but somehow or another it doesn't read correctly, it reads over 1 quart low, even when I have almost 6 quarts in it...

I think they take 5.8 is what I have heard.

sorry to bring up an old thread. But I just finished my swap and added 6qts. And it still doesn't even register on the dipstick. My dipstick is cut at the low line. Its a 2.7. Do I add more until I see it?

I run a T-100 filter (larger capacity) and i do what OZ said...........only I add 6 1/2 quarts...........mine just barely registers on my dipstick.

I'm assuming you are talking about the T100 ds that comes with the new pan...it goes on the dr side.

why are you guys cutting te ds? what does it hit. i thought it would be fine if you used the ds and pan from a t100
that was my question...I just used the one that came with the T100 kit  it will be something of a pain to get to but will work.

and, it will be fun to have some tech check my oil the first time, LOL

I put close to 6 in mine. I cut my DS as well but I dont even bother to look at it. Side note: im using the jeep liberty filter for added capacity and filtration.

Can you imagine a tech popping the hood and finding TWO oil dip sticks on a 5 speed?

I haven't needed any service to my truck since SAS'n it. but I put the T100 stick in the side where it belongs for the t100 but left my stock Tacoma dip stick in it's original place. I actually have two dipsticks...and I still forget to check my oil!

The front tacoma d s, is a dummy, full length stick, but the t100 stick ds is what I use for accuracy.

Of coarse this is all on my V6. Everyone knows four cylinders are just wannabe 6's anyway.
j/k (don't get your panties in a wad.)
