I am in the process of replacing my timing and balance shaft chains and components after 242000 miles. The timing chain and gears looked decent but the balance shaft chain had plenty of slop and the guides were badly worn and grooved. I decided to pull the engine and replace the rear main seal as well. Getting ready to put the engine back in and i noticed theres not much room to adjust the timing by moving the distributer. Does anyone know if it is wise to advance the timing by a couple degrees on the 2.7?
