Is 3.75" backspace too much with a 15x8 wheel? I want my tires to stick out a little bit more than stock, but is 3.75 too much with a 33x10.5?

should work for your wider stance look...
3.75" be 'bout as far as you'd want to push outboard.
4.0" would look less exaggerated.

* 4.0"-3.75" also help for wider 33" tires
in case you move that direction

* be sure you pre-fit any new wheel prior to installing the tire.
being sure the brake caliper clears the wheel's center chunk...
allows you to return/exchange the wheels unused if they don't ;)

I'm running 3 5/8" backspacing on my 15x8 rims and the tires stick out a decent amount. So 3.75" should be OK and probably 4" better depending on how much you want them to stick out.
With a 15x8 with 4" backspace, and a set of 33x10.5 tires, does the tire sit just outside the flare or is it even with it?

I have 15X8 with 3 5/8 backspacing as well and I think if my suspension were not so saggy & old, I wouldn't have any rubbing. And for the record, if you're going to listen to folks about what's what on here and seek advice, 2 people who really know their stuff Are ShowStop & TacoDell. I'm not saying others don't, I'm just saying...They Really Do. ;)
