I am really looking forward to this movie as well.

The look of 300 reminds me God of War for the ps2. A game that is well worth the $19. God of War 2 should be out pretty soon.

Looks like another 60s remake to me. Sigh, a/v industry isnt that old and we almost always make a copy of something.
Just because it's a remake doesn't mean it's going to be horrible.

THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

Here are a few interesting links that talk about the historical Battle of Thermopylae:

I first learned about the Battle of Thermopylae a few years ago watching The History Channel. Apparently, the U.S. military has studied the tactics used by King Leonidas and his Spartan warriors as a result of that battle. And yes, just like the trailer shows, the Spartans and other Greek allies did in fact throw Persian envoys into deep wells when they demanded soil and water as a token of their loyalty to Persia. Of course, I'm sure the movie will have alot of historical exaggerations, drama and fictionalized scenes (as all movies do), but hopefully it'll still be good and somewhat historically accurate. I plan on watching it.

Just got back from seeing it in imax.

Met all my expectations! Battle scenes were rediculous.

Frank Miller is a beast!

oh there was blood, guts, heads flying, titties bouncing, more titties, and tons more blood.

maybe it was the imax that did it for me. i've never seen a bad movie there.

or it could have been the grey goose in my stomach :)

On the last day of fighting the remaining 1000 warriors woke up, calmly bathed themselves in oils, dressed, and gathered themselves....in preparation of death.

The watching spies from the Persian army could not understand their actions.

Instead of holding the narrowest part of the pass, as they had done on previous days, they moved into a more open section of the pass-where they were more vulnerable. They fought like lions to the last man, it is said.
