I am planning on putting a 3.5" lift on my Tacoma in the very near future and I have decided to go with 32" BFG Mud Terrains w/ 16x8 Mickey Thompson Classic II rims w/ 4"BS. I have been looking at some Tacomas with similar setups of what I am planning on having and most of the ones I have seen had the tire sticking probaby and inch or so outside of the fender flare which I personally do not like. I am pretty sure with the 32x11.50 you will have extra width that I do not want, but I do not want a tire the width of the stock tires. So what should I do  . What size would be wider than the stock tire, yet skinnier than the 11.50's so it fits inside the fender flares. Thanks for all of your help and sorry about the Newbie question.

Okay, you're mixing and matching tire sizings here. You're only going to find metric tire sizes that fit a 16" wheel. Sounds like a 275/70/16 (~32"x10.8") would suit your needs, but be ready to pay more, since it's:

  1. Metric,
  2. not a very common metric size at that.

There are no sizes in between the stock 10.50 and the 11.50 from what I believe. However, I think that with 11.50's you will be fine, they won't stic out that much, if at all. Mine are 305/70/R16 ( equivalent to 33x12.5) and they stick out a little, so I think you'll be fine. Also, I have a buddy who has the 3.5 revtek and he runs 32/11.50, and it looks really good.

EDIT: I didnt see that you were using 16" wheels, you will have to go metric if using 16". So you might want to stick with 15" wheels.

Also Mickey Thompson doesn't make a 16x8 with 4 BS that has the appropriate bolt pattern...

Mudferret, what size wheel and tire are you running in this pic?
Those are Pro Comp 1869's (think they call them 1069's now) with 4" BS and 265/75/16's.

Dont know if this will help but i can tell you my experience. I had 32x11.5x15 bfg a/t's on my stock wheels w/4.25" backspacing and i didn't stick out at all. i dont have Fender flares btw. But those were inside the fenders barely. Now I have 33x12.5's on 15x8's w/3.75 backspacing and I stick a good 2" outside the fender lip.....i need flares lol.

Well I was also wondering if anyone had any pictures they could post of Tacomas with 32" BFG Mud Terrains showing the fender flares and wheels good.
Thanks again
This is the best I could do. These are 32x 11.50 BFG A/T with a 3.5" Revtek and 1" BL. As you can see, the tires don't stick out much, if at all.

When you say you had stock wheels, what size are you talking about? I thought different years/models had different size wheels so that's why I'm asking.

I have 265/75/16 on the stock wheels. I don't have any issues with rub. This size tire will cost a touch less than a 275/70/16. The oddball size is more expensive.
